Ukraine  win the UEFA  Euro Round of 16 game defeating in extra time Sweden on Tuesday 29 June 2021 at the Parken Stadium.    Ukraine qualified to the Quarterfinals against England  on Saturday 3 July!    Sweden remained with 10 players since the 99th minute when Marcus Danielson got a red card.

Sweden ended up as the winners of Group E with seven points and posting a +2 goal differential through wins against Poland and Slovakia and a 0-0 draw against Spain.  Ukraine made it to the knockout stages with three points and a -1 goal differential despite playing in the easiest group of the tournament.  Ukraine got the best draw finishing third in their group.

Italian Serie A players with 🇸🇪 Sweden National team:

  • Juventus midfielder Dejan Kulusevski (Sweden) 69′ yellow card and replaced in the 97th minute by Robin Quaison
  • Sampdoria midfielder Albin Ekdal (Sweden) played all game
  • Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg (Sweden) not listed

Italian Serie A players with 🇺🇦 Ukraine National team:

  • Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi (Ukraine) in the 61st minute he replaced Mykola Shaparenko.

Congrats to ex-AC Milan player and now Coach of Ukraine Andriy Schevchenko for the qualification to the Quarterfinals and to Atalanta defender Ruslan Malinovskyi.

Ukraine opening the score in the 27th minute. Oleksandr Zinchenko defeating Sweden goalkeeper Robin Olsen with a left footed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Andriy Yarmolenko. This is Zinchenko’s 7th goal with Ukraine.

Sweden equalizing for the 1-1 in the 43rd minute. Emil Forsberg defeating Ukraine goalkeeper Georgiy Bushchan with a left footed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by Alexander Isak. Forsberg is the first Swedish player to score 4 goals at a single EURO final tournament.

Problems for Sweden remaining with 10 players since the 99th minute.

The winner goal arriving in extra time in the 121st minute!
