✅    Panama won the Copa America Group Stage Group C on Thursday 27 June 2024 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, USA.  The game was chaotic seeing the United States playing with 10 players since the 18th minute.  Towards the end, Panama also ended with 10 players since the 88th minute.

USA started the match with a negative vibe when Juventus forward Timothy Weah got a red card in the 18th minute for hitting Panama’s Roderick Miller in the head. Weah got the straight red card in the 18th minute after striking Panama defender Roderick Miller in the back of his head in an off-ball incident. Referee Ivan Barton, initially, gave Weah a yellow card, but later was changed to a red card after video review. Making matters worse, USA goalkeeper Matt Turner got injured.  Turner was replaced at half time by goalkeeper Ethan Horvath.  The USA chances to advance will be decided in their final game against Uruguay on Monday, where they will likely need a win to reach the quarterfinals. Panama plays Bolívia on the same day.


In the 20th minute, Weston McKennie’s goal was ruled out for offside.

The USA took the lead in the 22nd minute.

The end of the match was chaotic. Referee Ivan Barton gave a red card in the 88th minute to Panama player Alberto Carrasquella after a reckless tackle on Christia Pulisic.    Tension in this game was so high,  there were five yellow cards and two reds cards. Incredible.
