Hello my friends.  This is the Second Serie A Preview for the 2013 - 2014 Season on Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1 September 2013, Matchday 2.   We have good news for Serie A teams in Champions League because we have 3 Serie A teams participating: Juventus, Napoli, and AC Milan.  Curiously, we will have the two losers Sassuolo - Livorno playing on Sunday!  Surely, time to redeem themselves.  Sad news is seeing the elimination of Udinese in the Europa League.  Only 2 Serie A teams in Europa League:  Fiorentina and Lazio after the elimination of Udinese.   Let's recap on what happened on Week 1.   From the 3 promoted teams Sassuolo, Livorno, and Hellas Verona, only 1 won.  Hellas Verona causing a sensational debut by defeating AC Milan.

On Serie A Week 2, we will see the chance of Lazio to avenge themselves against Juventus after losing the Italian Super Cup on August 18.  Juventus can establish their undisputed domain defeating Lazio.  A draw, will help more Lazio than Juventus.

Here is the situation. Napoli in first place with 3 points and a positive goal difference of +3, Inter in second position with 3 points and a positive goal difference of +2, AS Roma third position with 3 points and a positive goal difference of +2
The Europa League zone.   Torino in the 4th position with 3 points and a positive goal difference of +2.  Cagliari in the 5th position with 3 points and a positive goal difference of +1

Relegation Zone:  The three teams in the bottom positions: Livorno in the 18th position with 0 points and a negative goal difference of -2.  Sassuolo in the 19th position with 0 points and a negative goal difference of -2.  Bologna in the 20th position with 0 points and a negative goal difference of -3.

Up to Round 1  most  scored goals in favor: Napoli scoring 3 goals

Up to Round 1 most scored against:  Bologna conceding 3 goals

Top scorer  up to Round 1: Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik and Hellas Verona forward Luca Toni with 2 goals each.
