Here is the Italy Serie Week 23 Roundup valid for Matchday 23 on  on Thursday 9, Saturday 11, Sunday February 12, and Monday February 13, 2012.  First game on Thursday with Lazio - Cesena anticipated because the Six Nations Rugby game with Italy v England was scheduled at the Olimpico Stadium.  The Lega Serie A President Maurizio Beretta postponing the games Bologna v Juventus and Parma v Fiorentina due to the adverse weather conditions with snow and low temperatures.

Lazio defeating Cesena snatching the third position from Udinese.  AC Milan defeating Udinese despite theopening goal by Antonio Di Natale in the 19th minute. Argentinian forward Maxi Lopez scoring his first goal for AC Milan in the 77th minute to equalize the score 1-1 with Udinese. El Shaarawy putting AC Milan in the lead in the 85th minute with a right footed shot. This is how Milan takes the first position of the able.

Siena taking the lead in the 51st minute after Referee Rocchi grants the penalty to Siena conceded by Roma defender Simon Kjaer on Mattia Destro.  Emauele Calaio converting the penalty with a left footed shot and Roma suffering.

Napoli  giving the San Paolo a reason to smile again.  Napoli leading with 2 goals by Miguel Britos in the 15th minute  and a penalty converted by Edinson Cavani in the 37th minute.

Cagliari defeating Palermo with the ex Palermo player forward Mauricio Pinilla opening the score and then Daniele Dessena.   For Palermo, Abel Hernandez converting a penalty in the 83th minute conceded by Gabriele Perico for a handball inside the penalty area. Final result 2-1 for Cagliari.

 Lazio being down 0-2 returned in the second half to win the game with the winner goal by Libor Kozak in the 63rd minute.  Lazio with 10 men since the 35th minute after Referee Romeo sent off Konko.

Five of our Serie A teams will be busy next week in the UEFA Champions League: AC Milan with Arsenal, Inter with Olympique Lyon, and Napoli with Chelsea.  Lazio and Udinese will be playing the UEFA Europa League  against Atletico Madrid and PAOK respectively.

In the 35th minute, situation complicating for Lazio when Referee Romeo grants a penalty for Cesena.  Penalty conceded by Lazio Abdoulay Konko after pushing Cesena forward Adrian Mutu inside the penalty area as seen during the replay.  Konko also getting a RED CARD and Lazio remaining with 10 players

Shortening the distance in the 53rd minute for Lazio is Hernanes.  An assist by forward Miroslav Klose to Hernanes delivering a right footed shot defeating Cesena goalkeeper in the top right corner.
    In the 60th minute Lazio equalizing with Senad Lulic delivering a left footed shot after getting the assist by Libor Kozak .

Guards on.... Calaiooooo converting the penalty with a left footed shot defeating AS Roma goalkeeper Stekelenburg in the bottom right corner.   It's the 10th goal  this season for Calaio.

      Referee Gava gives a penalty to Napoli conceded by goalkeeper Sorreinto after a foul on forward Edinson Cavani.  Sorrentino cannot believe his luck and neither Sannino!   Taking the penalty spot is Cavani himself.   Yep, there you go.... Cavani gets set and one , two, three.. run.... BAMMMMMMMMMM gooaaalllllll  Cavani converting the penalty with a right footed shot defeating Sorrentino in the bottom left corner in the 38th minute. It's the 13th goal for Cavani this season.
