AS Roma recovering from the blow after falling at the Sant'Elia by delivering a poker to Inter leading by their iconic captain Francesco Totti.  Roma with a grand style victory practically demolishing Inter at the Olimpico with four goals without conceding.   More than snow falling at the Olimpico, there were goals falling over Inter.

This victory keeps AS Roma in the 6th position with 34 points and a positive goal difference of +10.
Inter remaining in the 5th position with 36 points and a positive goal difference of +5.  Roma are now only 2 points behind Inter giving them the boost to continue battling for a spot among the top 5 teams.  There are 7 points difference between Roma and Udinese who are holding the third position.  Roma's objective to reach the third position still gaining momentum.

The Roman gladiators making their statement and stopping Inter since the 13th minute with the opening goal by defender Juan with a headed shot defeating Inter goalkeeper in the bottom right corner following the corner conceded by Inter defender Maicon.  The assist made by captain Francesco Totti.

Whatever happened to Inter?   There was no reaction from Inter  to the Roman gladiators ruling at the Olimpico including ball possession.  In the 41st minute, an assist by Miralem Pjanic  towards the left side to Fabio Borini delivering a right footed shot defeating Julio Cesar in the center.  A joy for Roma fans at the Olimpico outpouring their support for the giallorossi while the faces from Inter players not that encouraging.

Roma keep  commanding the pitch not allowing Inter a shining moment for reaction. Instead, the Roman gladiators increasing the score in the 48th minute sending another "painful goal", and it is defender Juan to make the assist for Fabio Borini. Yep, Borini with a right footed shot defeating Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar in the center. And I am wondering where is Inter's defense?  are they playing? It's a painful expression from coach Ranieri seeing his ex team beating in a bad way his new team Inter.

Just to conclude the match, adding the cherry to the top of the ice cream is Bojan Krkic with the final "poker" goal in the 89th minute.A total Roma show, the final blow for Inter when Bojan Krkic increases the score with the perfect poker. Krkic getting the assist by Giammarco Piscitella to deliver a right footed shot defeating Julio Cesar in the bottom left corner and Julio might as well forget this day.  Though, not all responsibilities for Julio, but the whole Inter not playing to their best.  Was the cold weather too much to handle at the Olimpico for Inter?

It was an emotional match for the ex Roma coach Claudio Ranieri now coaching Inter.  Ranieri coached AS Roma from September 1, 2009 replacing coach Luciano Spalletti.  Ranieri resigned on February 20, 2011 for the poor results.   Ranieri suffering a major blow, now a defeat by his ex team with a poker not even giving him the chance for the honor goal

On Week 3, the match ended with a goalless draw at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, Inter 0 - 0 AS Roma on September 17, 2011.   A memorable game for Inter captain Javier Zanetti reaching 756 appearances.

Top scorer for AS Roma is forward Pablo Osvaldo with 7 goals.
Top scorer for Inter is forward Diego Milito with 12 goals.

Here is the official lineup from AS ROMA by coach Luis Enrique:

AS Roma: 24 Stekelenburg; 11 Rodrigo Taddei, 4 Juan,5 Heinze, 3 José Angel; 19 Gago, 16 Daniele De Rossi, 15 Pjanic; 10 Francesco Totti; 8 Lamela, 31 Borini.

A super victory for the Roman gladiators and making their way to the party are the cheerleaders... bring them in....
