UEFA Champions League Round of 16

Not only snowing in Milan, but snowing goals!!!!!  Eight goals in this game with 4 goals by Inter forward Diego Milito with a poker and 3 goals by Palermo forward Fabrizio Miccoli.   A golden draw, a one point for Palermo worth of  gold never backing down.   The draw more in favor for Palermo than for Inter losing 2 points at home.  A sweet and sour draw for draw.

A historical day for Milito as he is scoring his first poker in his career. Milito also archiving an important personal record scoring now 11 goals against Palermo in his career since playing in Serie A.

Last time Inter had a single player scoring 4 goals in one game was on December 1, 2002 with forward Christian "Bobo" Vieri in the game Inter 4 - 0 Brescia.  By the way, Vieri is participating now in the Italian dancing show "Ballando con le Stelle,"

Inter and Palermo playing the second round with new coaches, first round on Week 2 won by Palermo at the Renzo Barbera Stadium  Palermo 4 - 3 Inter .  Former Inter coach Gasperini is out, and former Palermo coach Mangia also out.   The second round now ending with a draw.

This draw sees Inter  in the 5th position with 36 points and a positive goal difference of +9.
Palermo in the 8th position with 28 points and a negative goal difference of -1.  Lazio keeping the fourth position after defeating AC Milan at the Olimpico.

Top scorer for Inter is forward Diego Milito with 12 goals
Top scorer for Palermo is forward Fabrizio Miccoli with 9 goals.

Here is the official lineup from INTER by coach Claudio Ranieri:

Surprise, surprise, surprise at the Giuseppe Meazza under the snow.  Yep, in the 16th minute it is Palermo to take the lead following a corner conceded by defender Andrea Ranocchia.  Taking the corner is Palermo forward Fabrizio Miccoli  sending the ball towards Andrea Mantovani to send shivering cold feelings with his right footed shot defeating from close range Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesear in the bottom right corner.   Mantovani running to celebrate with open shout.

Inter reacting in the 22nd minute equalizing the score with forward Diego Milito delivering a right footed shot from the right side of the box leaving Palermo defense unable to stop him while defeating Palermo goalkeeper in the bottom left corner.

In the 52nd minute Palermo taking again the lead with Miccoli getting the assist by forward Igor Burdan. Miccoli with a left footed shot defeating Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar in the bottom right corner.  The joy from Miccoli and Palermo players while Inter coach Claudio Ranieri shouts instructions to his players.

Three minutes later and Inter equalizing the score with Diego Milito!!!  A right footed shot by Milito equalizing defeating Palermo goalkeeper Viviano i the bottom right corner. Inter are alive again and the fans pouring their support for the team.

Milito rocking big time even under the snow as taking a 'Snow ride in the park" Yep, Milito scoring his third goal of the match  in the 61st minute after the headed assist by midfielder Esteban Cambiasso.  Milito delivering a right footed shot from the center of the box leaving no space for Palermo goalkeeper Vivivano to save the ball but observing it in the bottom right corner.  Inter now energized and the fans acclaiming Milito.

A give and take at the Meazza snowing goals after goal.  A duel between Milito and Miccoli.  Yep, in the 66th minute, Miccoli responding to the goal of Milito and equalizes the score with a headed shot from the center of the box defeating Julio Cesar in the bottom right corner after the assist by defender Federico Balzaretti.  Wow, you bet Julio Cesar not liking it.

I am bringing the cheerleaders to congratulate the two warriors Inter forward Diego Milito and Palermo forward Fabrizio Milito for their super performance!!!! You got to be kidding., Milito scoring 4 goals and Miccoli 3 goals.  Their own personal game and worth to be applauded.  Way to go!!!!
