Just one point difference and Catania with a must win at home. Final result is a 1-1 draw which is only good for Parma rescuing 1 point in this away game while Catania losing 2 points after having the lead with the goal by Bergessio.  Catania are without forward Maxi Lopez who transferred on Friday to AC Milan.

Opening the score is Catania in the 33rd minute with Gonzalo Bergessio delivering a left footed shot defeating Parma goalkeeper Campagnolo in the bottom right corner with the assist by Marco Biagianti.

Parma  pressing, creating goal opportunities and finally equalizing the score in the 44th minute with Francesco Modesto also with a left footed sot defeating Parma goalkeeper in the bottom right corner.  Modesto runs to celebrate and pointing to the fans to dedicate the goal while encouraging his teammates. It's the third goal of the season for Modesto.

First half ends 52% ball possession Catania and 48% ball possession Parma.  

Making his debut with Parma is Stefano Okaka in the 67th minute replacing forward Jonathan Biabiany.
 
It's the time for Honduras forward David Suazo to get some playing time after months of injury in the 81st minute replacing  Gonzalo Bergessio.  The fans applauding Bergessio, after all he scored the opening goal.

Before the game, Catania are in the 14th position with 22 points and a negative goal difference  of -6.
Parma are in the 12th position with 23 points and a negative goal difference of -8.

Top scorer for Catania is Lodi with 5 goals.
