Here are the declarations from AC Milan Coach Massimiliano Allegri in the press conference on Saturday 21 January 2012 at the Centro Sportivo Milanello.  Allegri commenting on the Serie A Week 19 match Novara v AC Milan to be played on Sunday 22 January 2012 at the Silvio Piola Stadium.

"If Juventus don’t win, we can end the first half of the season on top of the table but it won’t be easy tomorrow. We’ll be playing on a synthetic surface that we’ll train on today for the first time and we’ll be up against a team that played well on Wednesday evening and as such will be confident of doing well, but we have to get back winning.”

“Last year we had important players coming in. This year we have important players on the way back. Flamini should be back with the team shortly, Pato’s injury shouldn’t keep him out for long, Boateng will be back in about 2 or 3 weeks but in the meantime we have big games in the league and the Champions League including the match with Juventus.”

“Juventus failed to beat Cagliari on Sunday and we could have taken the top spot but our game was tougher. Sunday is in the past now and we can’t change the result."

"Now we have to win in Novara. It won’t be easy, they ‘ll be looking to play the game of their lives at home looking for points to get away from relegation,” said Allegri

“It’ll be a very fast game on the synthetic surface and so we’ll have to play a very technically adept game.”

“Seedorf trained yesterday with the team and he’s available for selection but after a week of the flu, it’d be hard for him to play from the start. On the left it’s more probable that Antonini starts ahead of Mesbah. Tomorrow I want to see Milan win more than anything else. To get that result we’ll have to put in a good performance. We’ll have to adapt immediately to the game.”

“Emanuelson has always performed well because he’s playing with continuity and he’s getting into the rhythm of the game. He’s just missing that flash of skill that will let him lift the rest of what he does in the 90 minutes. Technically, he definitely has it in him.”

“We could see Ibra, Robinho and El Shaarawy together but El Shaarawy played 120 minutes on Wednesday and he may be useful coming off the bench.”

“With one minute left, you can’t concede goals like that. Then we were forced to play another half an hour in the cold. We have to get the result by staying focused for the whole ninety minutes maintaining high levels of focus.”

“Players become club men when they sign the contract. From here to the end of the month, they’re be many rumors, but the club is aware of this and I’m very calm.”

“Pato was fine. He played with good intensity during the derby and on Wednesday he had a good game with a goal and a few other chances.”

“This year, we’ve had less muscular injuries and more traumatic injuries. Injuries that no one has ever even heard of, but the number of muscular injuries is low.”

“We’ve always played in the cold and it’s useless to sit here and talk about it because either you stop the league until the temperature rises or you get on with it and play.”

“At the moment, El Shaarawy’s role is as a second striker. Since last year at Padova where he played wide on the left, he’s improved a lot, especially in the last couple of months. He plays with more intensity and he’s getting used to playing with the other forwards.”

“Analyzing the first half of the season, the progress has been more or less the same. If we win tomorrow, we’ll have performed like we did in the second half of last season. It all depends on ourselves. Our adversaries are the same and it won’t be easy to equal last season’s form.”
