AC Milan receiving "home" midfielder Alexander Merkel from Genoa.  Milan having difficulties right now with many midfielders injured.  Merkel saying he is thankful to AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri.  "We have to work hard and let the coach decides who plays or not.  I am happy we won the Coppa Italia game against Novara."

Merkel played in the Emirates Cup in London in 2010 with Allegri giving him his chances to play.  Another important person for Merkel is Mauro Pederzoli,   now at Novara but previously Filippo Galli's   vice for the Milan youth team. Pederzoli helped bring the player through the ranks.

Alexander Merkel in Milan: the deal is for a temporary loan for the part Milan part Genoa owned player, and for him it means he is coming home.

In the previous season, Merkel made 10 appearances for Milan: 6 in the league, 2 in the Tim Cup (where he scored in the last sixteen round against Bari) and 2 in the Champions League. In this season at Genoa, rossoblu fans only have words of praise for Alexander, where he has featured in 14 games, 13 in the league and one in the Tim Cup.
