A tough defeat to swallow by AC Milan Coach Massimiliano Allegri losing the Milan Derby against Inter, according to him, by a mistake. Point blank is that Milan lost and Inter took the 3 points causing Milan to lose also the first position and going down to the second position. Result AC MILAN 0 - 1 INTER Goal by Diego Milito, Sunday January 15, 2012, Italy Serie A Week 18 Milan Derby
Here are the declarations from Allegri after the match.
"We found it hard to create things. Inter are a very physical team that concede very little. We made one mistake when the ball was in our possession and we should have done better. We paid a high price for it. At the end of the first half, my main worry was not to concede anything to them. We had done the work needed to go into the lead and we took very few risks, but this is football and in games like this the risk of a nasty surprise is always around the corner. We should have been more lucid in the final third of the pitch. They defended well and we had a few chances that we didn’t convert. Everything that could have been done was done against a good team that conceded little. If we play bad against the big teams? We’re a single point from the top of the table and if we win on Sunday we’ll be on 40 points. This is important.”
