Mission accomplished for the Roman gladiators. AS Roma with the mission to win this home game, and they did. The hero is legendary captain Francesco Totti converting two penalties.
Roma captain Francesco Totti scoring his first goal of the season after converting a penalty. Totti celebrating by showing his undershirt reading, "Scusate il ritardo," meaning "Sorry for the delay." This is in reference of taking too long to score his first goal, though, you bet his fans adore him scoring or not.
Totti converting the second goal in the 78th minute with a right footed shot defeating Chievo goalkeeper in the bottom right corner. Referee Russo granted the penalty to Roma after the foul by Bostjan Cesar for a handball getting also a yellow card.
Rumors continuing with the possible transfer from midfielder Daniele De Rossi still without renewing his contract. Forward Marco Borriello transferred to Juventus.
