A collapse at the Renzo Barbera Stadium with Napoli causing an upset.  Napoli with a firm step causing an upset since the last time they won at the Barbera in 1969.   Palermo falling....

Napoli opening the score.  In the 35th minute an assist by midfielder Walter Gargano following a fast break to forward Goran Pandev delivering from close range a left footed shot defeating Palermo goalkeeper in the bottom right corner.

Palermo react in the 45th minute with a goal  by forward Fabrizio Miccoli, but it is ruled out for offside.

First half ending 46% ball possession Palermo and 54% ball possession Napoli.

As expected by many, the ex Palermo player and now "undisputed Napoli star" Edinson Cavani scoring in the 35th minute with a right footed shot defeating Palermo goalkeeper in the bottom right corner.  The assist by spiky hair boy midfielder Marek Hamsik.  Cavani not celebrating the goal in respect to his ex team and fans while Napoli players run to congratulate him.  It's the 10th goal of the season for Cavani.

In the 60th minute, there is the "bring down the curtain goal."  An assist by Gokhan Inler to midfielder Marek Hamsik coming from the right side to deliver a right footed shot and bam, a splash, a cold shower at the Barbera defeating Palermo goalkeeper in the bottom left corner.

The honor goal for Palermo scored by captain Fabrizio Miccoli in the 89th minute with a headed goal from the center defeating Napoli goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis in the top right corner.   The assist by defender Federico Balzaretti.

Palermo went down to the 11th position with 21 points and a negative goal difference of -4   Napoli remaining in the 6th position with 27 points and a positive goal difference of +13.

Here is the disciplinary situation.  Only 1 suspended player for Palermo:  midfielder Josip Ilicic.  No suspended players for Napoli.

Top scorer for Napoli is the "ex Palermo" Edison Cavani with 10 goals.
