@ItalianSerieA Hello my friends. Here is the 2011 - 2012 Italy Serie A Roundup for the "Recovered Week 1" valid for Tuesday December 20 and Wednesday December 21, 2011. Week 1 was postponed for the strike when the players had disagreement to sign the contract. These are the last games from 2011. Serie A will resume on Week 17 on January 7 and Sunday January 8, 2012.
Bad way to end the year with more news on Calciopoli. Former Atalanta captain Cristiano Doni and 16 other people were arrested across Italy Tuesday December 20. There is the ongoing investigation into match-fixing scandal and illegal betting on games.Latest news is that three Serie A matches from last season are also under investigation: Brescia vs Bari, Brescia vs. Lecce and Napoli vs Sampdoria. A ray of hope for Atalanta with the smacking home victory against Cesena. Plus, top scorer of the Serie A along Atalanta forward German Denis with 12 goals after converting a penalty against Cesena..
Juventus failing to win at the Friuli stadium and the match with Udinese ends with a goalless draw. This result takes away the "sole leadership." Juventus now sharing the leadership with AC Milan both having 34 points. For goal difference the first position is for AC Milan having a positive goal difference of +19 while Juventus have a positive goal difference of +16.
The Tuscan Derby between AC Siena v Fiorentina ending with a goalless draw.
Making his debut as new Palermo coach is Bortolo Mutti replacing former coach Devis Mangia. Lady Luck giving a helping hand to Palermo with the own goal by Novara defender Carlo Ludi. However, it seems Lady Luck moving away towards Novara battling against 10-men from Palermo after the sent off in the 43rd minute of midfielder Josip Ilicic. Novara equalizing the score with Marco Rigoni in the 84th minute.
Smacking, super victory from Napoli redeeming themselves in front of their fans at the San Paolo Stadium. Six goals against a desolated Genoa in disbelief. It was raining goals..... Inter also with a positive sign ending with 4-1 against Lecce sending them to a "desperate state." Lecce still in the rock bottom of the Serie A in the 20th position with the worst defense of the season having a negative goal difference of -16.
In the relegation area, Cesena with 12 points, Novara 11 points, and Lecce with 9 points. Lecce having the worst defense of the Serie A this season conceding so far 29 goals while scoring 16 with a negative goal difference of -13.
I will update this page with the results
