UEFA Champions League Round of 16,

AC Milan with a loud "Mission Accomplished," winning the last two games of the 2011 season before the Christmas break.  A sour note for Cagliari after  the own goal by Pisano while attempting to clear the danger from AC Milan midfielder Antonio Nocerino closer to score, instead, the ball went inside the net.

Milan, at least for one day, is the sole leader with 34 points and having the best attack with a positive goal difference of +19.  Cagliari  going down to the 14th position with 18 points  with a negative goal difference of-5.

A sweet return from the ex Cagliari coach Massimiliano Allegri.  Since Allegri left  Cagliari he is doing super well in the big league with  Milan winning the Scudetto on  his first year as coach.  SO,  you bet a bit of regret maybe from Cagliari president Cellino  for not keeping him.  Allegri  was Cagliari coach from 2006 to 2010.

Good news with the return from injury of AC Milan first goalkeeper Christian Abbiati not conceding a single goal .

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri

Here is Pato waiting for his  moment... it must have been cold.......

The joy from A C Milan midfielder Antonio Nocerino creating "indirectly" the opening goal for Milan.  Nocerino  was running fast to kick the ball

AC Milan first goalkeeper Christian Abbiati  happy to be back after  injury.

Players congratulating forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his goal against Cagliari securing the victory.
