Napoli rewriting their own history in Champions League. Mission accomplished and what it seemed impossible, it was possible. Yep, Napoli defeating Villareal in their stadium with two goals by midfielders Gokhan Inler and Marek Hamsik. Napoli not only won, but also did not concede any goal. Napoli qualifying in second position from Group A to the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
Only sour note, but with this qualification diminishing the pain is the sent off from Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri in the 55th minute. Surely, the joy of defeating Villareal and still battling among the giants in the Champions League is the best medicine for Mazzarri to ease the pain of being t sent off.
The so-called Group of Death, proved nothing for the determination of Napoli. One of the favorite of the group is eliminated "Manchester City."
Here is the official lineup from VILLAREAL by coach Garrido:
Villarreal: Diego Lopez, Angel, Zapata, Musacchio, Oriol, De Guzman, Senna, Bruno Soriano, Perez, Nilmar, Ruben
Here is the the official lineup from NAPOLI by caoch Walter Mazzarri:
