It was the battle match for the "leadership."  Lazio and Juventus  before the game  had same 22 points  while for goal difference Juventus were in first position with +11 goal difference and Lazio with +8 goals.  For Juventus it is a strong statement  on their  quest for the Scudetto as they are still  having a pending game against Napoli .   Juventus now having 25 points while remain with 22 points.

Although Lazio had the  chance to score in the 34th minute with forward Tommaso Rocchi while Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon saves.  Immediately, Juventus in counterattack, pressing,  following fast bread and there you see the assist by forward Alessandro Matri for Simone Pepe delivering a right footed shot defeating Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti in the bottom left corner.   Pepe  with his particular "golf" celebration.  One goal enough to secure the 3 points and  leave Lazio behind.
