On the match against Caglairi, Ranieri said, "They are a team that run and want to play well. It won't be an easy match, but if we put our minds to it we have to beat them. Cagliari are very dangerous: of the nine goals they have scored in total, seven of them were scored away from home. We have to play our own game with confidence and determination. That's the only way we are going to get out of this fog. We want to beat Cagliari: the most difficult match is always the next one, and the next one is tomorrow. And let's not forget that from now on every match is a cup final for us."

Point is that Inter are in really need to win this home game to get away the relegation zone.
"When the going gets tough, the tough get going, we'll see. We did manage to work well with those who are here, because the international players came back in yesterday, we'll see how it goes. We'll wait for Cagliari. We want to play well against them."
On the subject of Lucio, Ranieri stressed: "I hope to have him back on Tuesday, let's hope he can make it." More questions came up about the conditions of the other two Brazilians, Maicon and Jonathan: "Obviously we'll have to wait and see as regards Maicon, but he's making progress in the time expected. Will Jonathan start the match tomorrow? Everyone is capable of starting the match, the question is 'how long can they last?'"
