Great performance from the Italian National Football team in this friendly game with almost  an "emergency signal" with all the missing players for injury.  Responding to the call was forward Mario Balotelli  not only scoring his first goal, but also making the assist for the second goal.   Italy  goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon playing his 111th game with the Italian National team and is only goal behind  goalkeeper Dino Zoff having 112.

Truly, with injured forward Antonio Cassano out for  about 6 months,  Italy head coach Cesare Prandelli had to rearrange his module, his plan, his new Italy and re-test some of the younger players.   We might say everybody responded to the call and keeping Italy on the winning road.  Making his debut with the Italian national football team is AC Milan defender Ignazio Abate  since the first minute and  from Serie B Torino center back Angelo Obinze Ogbonna since the 77th minute when replacing Domenico Criscito.

Italy started slow, and Poland could have taken the lead in the first 15 minutes.  Later, the Azzurri like they turned on the switch to gain speed and dominate the match.

Let me tell you, I literally jumped from my seat and did my cheer leading when forward Mario Balotelli smacked his headed goal  in the 30th minute defeating Poland goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny who was outside the safe zone.  Boy, are you kidding me, with all the ongoing  things with Balotelli and the pressure to carry the team on his shoulder, boy, you bet this was an important goal for him and a boost to the whole team.  Kudos also for  Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio making the assist.  It's the first goal from Balotelli with the Italian national team.

Starting the second half, Prandelli making 2 substitutions in the 46th minute:

Daniele De Rossi out, Simone Pepe in
Andrea Pirlo out, Thiago Motta in

In the second half there it is, another  get up and do the cheerleading with the goal from Inter forward Giampaolo Pazzini.  Awesome..   The whole thing started by  Mario Balotelli with a long range assist and the ball somehow on the way of Simone Pepe  almost  deviating  until making his way to the feet of Pazzini.   Gee... I think I ran at the same time with Pazzini pointing at my  eyes to celebrate the goal.   Oh yeah... you might wonder where I was ...  oh  I was watching the game with a group of friends.  We all rooting for Italy, so it was all blue!!!! Azzurriiiii

Just two minutes after Pazzini's goal, and Prandelli making a substitution.  Giampaolo Pazzini  out, and time for forward Alessandro Matri in the 62nd minute.   Riccardo Montolivo also out, replaced by midfielder Alberto Aquilani.

The highlight of the game, at least  for me, was the moment when Italy goalkeeper Gigi Buffon saved the penalty in the 84th minute conceded by Andrea Ranocchia!!!!! oh my gosh, tears flowing  of joy  watching Gigi saved the right footed shot penalty by Jakub Blazczykowski in the center .   Awesome to see Buffon celebrating, his  personal victory, and his teammates joining  him to celebrate.  What a moment, a boost for the team!!!!   Buffon  is back!  Buffon the guardian of the Italian National football team....

Game is over and now time to prepare the second friendly game with powerful South America national team URUGUAY winners of the 2011 Copa America.   This game is on November 15.
