Prandelli starting the press conference at the Technical Center of Coverciano with greetings for Antonio Cassano.
"I went to see him and asked me to salute everybody. It means Antonio is well and miss us. I saw him serene, motivated, and I wante to say that we miss him. The atmosphere without him is particular. I told him that in the situation that he found he had been lucky, if something similar would have happened to him 10 years ago, maybe it would have been diverse.
Regarding the future of Cassano with the Italian National team, Prandelli said, "It would be the dream from everybody, and clearly even from Antonio, to have him back within five months and have time to think particularly in something. Though now it is right that he prepares to the first steps. I told him, maybe to the Euro 2012 you will come with Carlina and your son. It would be nice to bring him even not as a player, in the case he is not available, like one who can give a great contribution with his spirit. Cassano feels this team in a particular way."

What to do without Giuseppe Rossi and Antonio Cassano?
Certainly, the absence from injury of forwards Giuseppe Rossi and Antonio Cassano forcing Prandelli to look for new ways. It was clear that Prandelli had formed the nazionale around the leadership of Cassano. On a positive thought, the injuries occurred after Italy already qualified for the EURO 2012. Prandelli has now enough time to rearrange his module and prepare a Plan A and a Plan B. and
Prandelli saying, "Up to two days ago, I have not thought of changing module, I have not done any type of technical reflexion. Only after talking with Antonio, I have started to think about it. I hope to recover Antonio and Rossi, but now we are obliged to take a new way. The idea is to construct a game with forwards having diverse characteristics. We have four (Giovinco had left for injury), but all are modern, there is no central striker. We can continue with the work we have done up to now with an additional alternative which is represented by Pepe."
On Forward Mario Balotelli
Prandelli saying, "Balotelli has talent, it is an opportunity to demonstrate his own worth. However, I don't want to give him too much responsibility. I saw him well in the last practice match game. He is a player that is finding his own equilibrium."On Udinese forward Antonio Di Natale
Regarding a possible called up for Di Natale, Prandelli replying, "He is 33 years old, we want to work on renewing. This is why I have chosen younger players. The wish is to see him in the table of top scorers and we will take him in consideration."
