Hello my friends,  Here is the 2011 - 2012  Italy Serie A Roundup Week 8 valid for Matchday 8  on  Saturday October 22 and Sunday October 23,  2011.  All games observing a minute of silence for the death of Italian rider Marco Simoncelli this morning during the Malaysian Moto GP. Our prayers and condolence  for the family and friends. .

We have new leaders, Udinese are the sole leaders with 15 points  and a positive goal difference of +9 after defeating Novara with 3 goals by Antonio Di Natale  and Maurizio Domizzi.  First surprise with Juventus failing to defeat Genoa to keep the leadership.  Juventus despite the two goals from Alessandro Matri could not keep a victory and draw with Genoa going down the third position with 13 points.   while Lazio jumped to the second position with 14 points.

Arguably the most interesting game for the way it ended is that of Lecce - AC Milan. Lecce  in the first half winning 3-0 humiliating AC Milan. In the second half, Milan returning with a demolished mentality and a tractor.  Kevin Prince Boateng  replacing Robinho and scoring 3 goals. Lecce unable to react and the winner goal was from Milan defender Mario Yepes. Tough lesson for Lecce.

Highlights from AS Roma 1 - 0 Palermo is the debut with goal by 19-years old Argentinian Erik Lamela in the 7th minute.   Inter breaking the curse at the giuseppe MEazza by winning the firs home game this season  after losing 4 and scoring the first goal  by midfielder Thiago Motta agaisnt Chievo Verona.

Fiorentina started to win and then ending the game  with a draw against Catania while fans whistled coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.  The  match Bologna-Lazio with an own goal in favor of Lazio after Bologna forward Robert Acquafresca deviated the ball. Bologna now having the worst defense this season in the 19th position with a  negative goal difference of -8.  Las position  again for Cesena losing the match against AC Siena.  Cesena with only 2 points and a negative goal difference of -7.

Top scorer is Udinese forward Antonio Di Natale with 6 goa

In the 31st minute  Genoa  sending cold  showers to the joy of Juventus fans when equalizing the score.  An assist by Alexander Merkel to Marco Rossi in the right side who only had to head the ball   defeating Juventus goalkeeper Marco Storari in the center.
.

wow wow, wow.. what an awesome goal from Matri !  Here is the combo goal...  In the 58th minute an assist by forward Mirko Vucinic towards the center where there  it was Andrea Pirlo  pretending to take the  shot but instead leaving space  for the ball to make its way to Alessandro Matri  to smack the final right footed shot defeating Genoa goalkeeper in the bottom right corner.  Awesome. Closeup showing the happy face form Pirlo and Matri as  saying, well done.

Fiorentina 2 - 2 Catania
: In the 20th minute it is Firoentina to open the score with forward Stevan Jovetic. An assist by Giani Munari to Jovetic from outside the area to deliver a right footed shot defeating Catania goalkeeper Mariano Andujar in the bottom right corner

In the 42nd minute with a visible joyful Gennaro Delvecchio after equalizing the score.  Here is the thing that  Fiorentina defender Alessandro Gambeirni conceded a corner.  Out of the corner there you go, the ball in the area bumping in a player and then falling in the feet of Delveccio to  deliver a right footed shot defeating goalkeeper Andjuar in the bottom left corner.

In the 61st minute  the one and only Stevan Jovetic sending the fans to paradise when  scoring the second goal with a right footed shot from outside the box defeating Catania goalkeeper Andujar  almost remaining frozen observing the ball in the top right corner.  Just like not able to move on time with the speed of the ball.  The assist was by midfielder Juan Manuel Vargas who had just  replaced in the 6th minute  Gianni Munari.

In the 82nd minute Catania again equalizing the score..  A headed assist by Gonzalo Bergessio to Pablo Barrientos scoring with a right footed shot defeating Fiorentina goalkeeper in the center.

Lecce 3 - 3 AC Milanc: In the 4th minute, an assist  by Carlos Grossmuller towards Guillermo Giacomazzi while Milan defender  failing to clear danger and Giacomazzi findin the spot to head the ball despite  Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati anticipating but not able to clear in the center.

Mamma mia!!!! What has  Abbiati done??!!!  In the 28th minute Referee Romeo grants a penalty to Lecce. Yep, here is the thing, an error by AC Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati  committing a foul in the penalty area on Daniele Corvia and you bet he realizes it.  Making it more dramatic is that ex AC Milan defender Massimo Oddo converts the penalty!  Oddo  hesitating  first, well, actually  studying Abbiati as they know each other well, and  then.... a run and bam a right footed shot in the top lect corner.  hey, hey, hey, Oddo is also celebrating, unlike other former players who usually don't celebrate when scoring against their ex teams.

Say what!!!  guys, believe it or not Lecce is totally humiliating AC Milan and it is the third goal of the match now.  In the 37th minute running  from the center of the box is Carlos Grossmuller and while Milan players attempted to block things went wrong for the rossoneri and Grossmuller's right footed shot like a bowling shot  went slowly but  with a lethal killer in the bottom left corner.
