And he we have ex Empoli goalkeeper Jasmin Handanovic playing for Slovenia.  Usually, the  first goalkeeper is Udinese goalkeeper Samir Handanovic but he is suspended. Both are cousins.

Oh gosh, guys, I am so sad to see a stadium "almost empty".. Prandelli wanted to have the full support for the squad asking the fans to be at the stadium.

Goosebumps watching our players making their entrance to the pitch.  awesome.   Now, time for the anthem and you can see close ups from  Cassano with a joyful  expression singing proudly l'Inno di Mameli next to Federico Balzaretti... Also very concentrated is Buffon with closed eyes singing the anthem.   We are set now...

Just in the 1st minute and the clear statement from Italy to win the game. Yep, a right footed shot from forward Giuseppe Rossi coming from the right side and it is saved in the lower right corner.  Combo made with assist by Daniele De Rossi.

Immediate there is the long range shot by Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini though Antonio Cassano caught offside... oh well... come on.. we are just in the beginning, forza Azzurri.

Slovenia with a wake up call for the Azzurri in the 8th minute when  Aleksandar Radosavljevic tries a long range shot and.. well... lucky that Milivoje Novakovic was caught offside.  Italy cannot allow spaces neither lose ball possession.

Uffa ... in the 18th minute just losing a clear goal opportunity when Antonio Cassano making his way to deliver a right footed assist towards Giuseppe Rossi on the left side and missing target as Slovenia defender Bostjan Cesar closely following him to block....  Montolivo kind of telling Rossi that he was closer to make the shot...  gesturing towards Rossi....

Mamma miaaa hello helloo helloooo in the 36th minute almost dropping my tea watching Robert Koren coming from outside the area smacking a right footed shot and I could hear the SPLASH when Buffon with both hands saving.    We want a goal, but a goal from Italy.....

Second half starts with Prandelli making a substitution in the 45th minute. Thiago Motta out, and midfielder Claudio Marchisio in.

Warming up are Giampaolo Pazzini and Domenico Criscito..

Guys, in the 57th minute, we see now Slovenia making a substitution and Serie A  players in action. Yep. Palermo midfielder Josip Ilicic playing for Slovenia replacing Genoa winger Walter Birsa.

Standing ovation for Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini during the substitution.  In the 61st minute Pazzini replaces Cassano.  Fiorentina fans welcoming the ex "Pazzini"... bravo.. I like this welcome for il Pazzo...

In the 65th  minute Referee giving a yellow card to Italy defender Federico Balzaretti....

Oh my gosh, Italy having two chances to score in the 68th minute, first attempt by Daniele De Rossi with a left footed shot and making his way to save Handanovic.. Prandelli holding his head as thinking we should have scored here!

Fans starting to whistle.....

Domenico Criscito warming up....

Close up from Prandelli yelling, sending instructions to the players as to wake up and smell the coffe... Twenty more minutes

In the 75th minute a long range shot by Andrea Pirlo .. gosh... Giampaolo Pazzini caught offside...

In the76th minute Italy with another substitution, forward Mario Balotelli replacing Riccardo Montolivo...

Final minutes and goals not arriving....

In the 81st minute, counter attack with Italy and Mario Balotelli almost falling but keeping focused and delivering the assist to Claudio Marchisio and my gosh.. Marchisio  delivering a right footed shot missing to the right almost the winning goal...

AND WERE INNNNNNNNNNN GOAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL  in the 85th minute  there is the one and only PAZZO. a historical moment for Giampaolo Pazzini delivering the only and winning goal so far.  Pazzini with a right footed shot defeating Slovenia goalkeeper Handanovic in the lower right corner.   This is also Italy's 700th goal. and you be Fiorentina fans going wild applauding Pazzini!!!! and so do I... woohoooooo Forza Pazzini
