As for the lineup, Prandelli making a change to give playing time to defenders Mattia Cassani and Federico Balzaretti in place of Christian Maggio and Domenico Criscito who play in the match against Faroe Islands. Is this a right move? Yes, you bet it is. Why? Well, Italy not risking elimination and still Prandelli must define his formation ahead of the real deal. So, it will be up to Cassani and Balzaretti to convince the coach they are "first team" material.
Apart for the few changes, in the press conference, Prandelli declaring, "We are going ahead with the team who won against Faroe Islands with the confirmation of the two strikers Giuseppe Rossi."

About the bench, Prandelli added, "The evaluation will be exclusively technical, but I want to wait until the end. I have 6 strong forwards, 2 play, 2 goes to the bench and the other 2 will go to the tribune."

About Balotelli and his vi to the Sollicciano jail, "It has been Balotelli himself to ask to go. I accepted but wit one condition that he look smiley. Mario is a sincere guy, but he has to improve in some behavior. If he feels something wrong, he must know we are hear to listen. I have a lot of patience with him, it would be bad not to give a hand to a player with such potential."
