"Genoa wanted Gilardino, Zarate, and Forward Rodrigo Palacio Remaining," - Video Genoa President Enrico Preziosi
By Anna Italia

Good morning my friends. Talking about transfer market what worked and what not for Genoa. Genoa President Enrico Preziosi admits Inter made an important offer for Argentinian forward Rodrigo Palacio. According to Preziosi the reason why they did not sell Palacio to Inter was for lack of time for a counter offer.
Here is the thing, Preziosi also wanted to sign Fiorentina forward Alberto Gilardino, and apparently, Gilardino also wanted to join them. The issue looks it was a high price for their budget and at the end Gilardino remaining with Fiorentina. For Preziosi, the team to beat this season is AC Milan. Originally, Preziosi were after Mauro Zarate and had negotiated with Lazio President Claudio Lotito, but after realizing they could not have the reassurance from Zarate, they had to look otherwise. Zarate signed for Inter. The option to negotiate maybe in June with Inter for Palacio is still open.
Bottom line, guys, "money talks.".... no money... no players...
