Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio renewing his contract until 2016 on Tuesday May 17 2011.  Marchisio has been with Juventus since he as 7 years  old with the youth and gradually progressing until forming part of the first team.

“It’s an extremely important day for me and I’d like to dedicate it to my family, who have always supported me. I began my association with Juventus in 1993 and I’m happy that I’ve been able to extend my stay.   My contract situation’s been spoken about a lot in previous months, but from the club’s or my point of view there’s never been a moment which has put our relationship in jeopardy.”

“We’re experiencing a momentous change in terms of the relationship with players – explained Giuseppe Marotta – and this contract has seen new conditions included, such as image rights and achieving certain targets, which cause the negotiations to last longer. We are happy for this renewal, because Marchisio is an important player, who came through the youth ranks and is Bianconero through and through. His sense of affiliation and professionalism are basic elements which excite the fans and help to chase the targets that we’ve established.”

Marchisio added, “I’m happy that the club’s shown their trust in me and now I want to reciprocate it by winning.  There are many trophies in this room and my biggest dream is to lift one as soon as possible. It’s a dream that I also want to achieve for our fans who have always been with us even during the most difficult moments, and they deserve to be repaid.”
