Here is the Weekly Roundup for the  Italian Serie A Week 34 on Saturday April 23, 2011. After this week, there will be only 4 more games.  A victory for AC Milan will just add another star to their quest to win the Scudetto.   AC Milan sole leaders in the Serie A  with 74 points meaning  +8  points ahead of Inter  with 66 points and +6 points ahead of Napoli with 65 points. 

Palermo  not only winning their game, but giving a super helping hand to AC Milan by defeating their direct contender Napoli..  Milan now with  6 points ahead of Napoli while Inter defeating Lazio overtake Napoli to claim the second position of the Table.  An upset at te Olimpico di Torino when  Jvuentus were leading 2-0. Catania equalizing the score in the very last agonizing extra minute.. yep... in the 95th minute from a direct free kick by Francesco Lodi  with a left footed shot not even giving enough tie to Juventus goalkeeper Buffon to move but only observing the ball in the bottom left corner. 

AS Bari relegated to Serie B and Milan need only 4 points to win the Scudetto!!!!

AC MILAN 74 points closer to the Scudetto, followeed by Inter 66 points, and Napoli 65.  
Top scorers are Udinese forward Antonio Di Natale  and Napoli forward Edinson Cavani with 26 goals each. Last position for AS Bari now ready to relegation to Serie B with only 21 points.

AS Bari 0 - 1 Sampdoria: Bad news for Bari in the 58th minute when Referee Andrea Gervasoni  gives a penalty to Sampdoria. Yep, a penalty conceded by Bari forward Erik Huseklepp bringing down Andrea Poli inside the penalty area.   Taking the penalty spot is Sampdoria forward Nicola Pozzi.  The big moment for Pozzi after converting the penalty with a right footed shot defeating Bari goalkeeper in the bottom left corner.  It's the final blow for Bari as mathematically speaking they are now relegated to the Serie B remaining with 21 points.

In the 39th minute Palermo equalizing with defender Federico Balzaretti and guess who made the assist????  Oh yeah.. it was redemption time for Mattia Cassani after conceding the penalty, now with the assist to Balzaretti who scored with a left footed shot defeating Napoli goalkeeper De Sanctis in the center.

The winning goal in the 45th minute thanks to a penalty converted by Palermo defender Cesare Bovo.  The penalty conceded by Napoli midfielder Christian Maggio for a  foul inside the penalty area on Giulio Migliaccio.

In the 39th minute a rocambolesco goal initiated with a pass from Alessandro Matri to Milos Krasic then to Alessandro Del Piero being at the right place in the center of the box to  head the ball  from close range defeating Catania goalkeeper Andujar in the top left corner.

Juventus leading 2 -0 up to the 80th  minute, then, Catania  equalizing the score in the very last agonizing extra minute.. yep... in the 95th minute from a direct free kick by Francesco Lodi  with a left footed shot not even giving enough tie to Juventus goalkeeper Buffon to move but only observing the ball in the bottom left corner.  The immediate joy from Lodi and Catania coach Diego Simeone running to celebrate this draw, an important  1 point.
