It might not be a bad result for AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri, however, stats favoring Palermo at the Renzo Barbera Stadium.  The draw  AC Milan 2 - 2 Palermo  in the Coppa Italia Semifinal first round  at this point favors more Palermo.

It will take AC Milan a real miracle to defeat  Palermo at the Barbera.  Anyway, kudos for Palermo, especially for Javier Pastore.  Clearly, Palermo coach Delio Rossi  made his homework and his players put up a strong  front in San Siro.  Second round of the Coppa Italia Semifinal will be played on May 11 at the Renzo Barbera.

Here are the declarations from AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri and AC Milan defender Massimo Oddo after the game.

MASSIMILANO ALLEGRI

“We knew that Palermo had very gifted players. We had a strong start and took the lead early on, but then the game got a bit more complicated. It’s not a bad result as it leaves the question of qualification wide open, it will be decided in Palermo. Now we have to concentrate on the championship, because in my opinion our match on Saturday can be decisive for the Scudetto race.

The second leg in Palermo will be tough game, but we’re still in and everything will be decided there.
It’s a matter of fact that in 8 months only 2 or 3 fouls have been whistled in favour of Ibrahimovic. In my view, tonight we should have been awarded a penalty, but, as always, we accept the referee’s decision. Ibra have been penalised way too many times.

In Brescia, we’ll face a team fighting against relegation and therefore it’s going to be a difficult match. We’ll have to prepare for it in the best possible way.

I would do again everything I did this evening. Papastathopoulos put in a great performance and tonight, considering also the fact that when a player doesn’t have much playing time it’s not easy to get used to the this pace”.

AC MILAN DEFENDER MASSIMO ODDO

“We had a great game. Palermo tried to hit us on the counter, and in the end they did it twice with their second goal being a real gem. We definitely wouldn’t have deserved to lose, on the contrary. The question of qualification is still open. We showed we’re doing well, we ran a lot, right until the final whistle. I haven’t played for a long while and I’m very pleased with my performance. I ran a lot and sent in plenty of crosses. Ibra's goal came from my assist.

Those who play rarely are doing well from an athletic point of view because they can train more. On the other hand, these players may find it difficult to get used to the pace of a real game. In any case, we’re professionals, we have to respect the coach’s decisions and work hard to make sure we’re ready when we get the chance to play.

I don’t think tonight’s game will have an effect on the match against Brescia. We have a deep squad, today several players rested, so on Saturday they will be ready to go. I’m sure there will be no problem”.
