Thomas DiBenedetto of DiBenedetto AS Roma LLC provided Alessandro Catapano of La Gazzetta dello Sport with an exclusive interview from Boston, Massachusetts:

Boston businessman Thomas DiBenedetto toasts with fans in the AS Roma soccer team fan club, in Rome, Thursday, March 31, 2011. A group of American investors led by DiBenedetto plans to sign a deal to buy three-time Italian champions Roma by mid-April. After days of extensive negotiations in Rome, a joint statement issued near midnight on Tuesday read, "The signature for the agreements is scheduled for within the next 20 days". DiBenedetto is also a partner in New England Sports Ventures, who own both the Boston Red Socks and English Premier League soccer club Liverpool F.C.

You will be the President but not the only subject involved in the operation. Can you tell us a little more about your partners? How will they be involved?

"They are my friends. All are business owners or successful managers with the neccesary economic resources for this operation. All are fascinated by this project.

James Pallotta, one of the owners of the Boston Celtics, will put into play his sporting competencies. He has already closely evaluated the potential of the team. Michael Ruane boasts a successful career with investment funds and in the real estate sector. He'll be involved above all in the new stadium project. Richard D'Amore is an expert in new media and will act to develop that sector."

Thomas DiBenedetto was also quoted during an interview with Mediaset:

"AS Roma is a princess and we'll make her a Queen."

(Audio file).

Vincenzo Montella of AS Roma in quotes with La Gazzetta dello Sport:

"I thank DiBenedetto for the beautiful words he said about me (he said that Montella had done a good job in a difficult time) but I'll stop here. Now, I only speak about whom is present and to whom wanted me at this club. For now, the rest are only hypotheticals even if they're very concrete."

"Gigi Del Neri? I had a great rapport with him (when he managed Roma). He always played me! He's an excellent coach that we had for a few months at Roma."

Leonardo of Internazionale was candid after the derby on Sky Italia:

"Psychologically, conceding the first goal after 45 seconds was hard to overcome and set the tone for the game."

"I respect the banners against me. I'm proud of what I've experienced and lived while at Milan."

Gianluci Vialli mentioned that Inter had poor movement:

"I agree with you. There was little movement. It was difficult to create space."

Massimiliano Allegri of AC Milan was over the moon after the derby win in quotes with La Gazzetta dello Sport:

"Pato had a great game playing very well in the offensive phase and attacking their two center backs creating space between the two lines. It was one of his best games if not the best. Nesta and Thiago Silva? When a team has a solid defense, it acquires more security in all parts. Tonight, everyone sacrificed. We stayed compact enough excluding a pair of instances in the first half. Seedorf? He had an extraordinary game in both phases. He played as an advanced playmaker giving intensity and great quality. He was the man of the match."

Clarence Seedorf
was his usual frank and insightful self before the Milan derby in quotes made to La Gazzetta dello Sport:

"I say that this derby is decisive. On a psychological level, it counts a great deal. Whomever says otherwise is a liar."

Alexandre Pato was the derby hero and was quoted in La Gazzetta dello Sport:

"When you win, you all win together and when you lose, everyone loses together. Tonight, we all did very well and I"m very pleased. I'm calm: I try to do my best in training and in the game. Even in less important games because even those are worth three points."

Cesare Prandelli was pleased with the two Azzurri wins in quotes with La Gazzetta dello Sport:

Caratterialmente e come ordine siamo stati bravi".

"The boys fought, they were organized enough and I was content because notwithstanding the difficulties, they were lucid. I had a great deal of answers. They are important games. In terms of character and formation, we were great."

"We know that we must still play important games and we know that the victory wasn't discounted."

On Giuseppe Rossi:

"He had a good game. He was able to position himself in the right places. It was the first time that we played in this formation and too often, he and Alberto Aquiliani were too close to each other."

"I'm content for the victory and for the goal because strikers must score and I'm also happy for Alessandro Matri who scored on his debut. It was a positive night (against Ukraine) overall and for everyone. Now, we have two games with Estonia and the Faroe Islands that we can win."

Alessandro Matri of Juventus after his Azzurri debut in quotes with La Gazzetta dello Sport:

"For me, it was a unique emotion. I wouldn't have expected to score a goal on my debut. And then even came a win. The assist by Sebastian Giovinco? I ran 20 meters and asked him for the ball. I saw that he slowed the action down by stopping it and I called for the ball. It went well."
