Italy Head Coach Cesare Prandelli with the second day training on Wednesday March 23, 2011 at the Technical Center of Coverciano preparing  for the UEFA Euro 2012 Qualification match Slovenia vs Italy on Friday March 25, 2011. It's the last day training in Coverciano as the team departs tomorrow  to Slovenia.

Apparently,  Italy Head Coach Cesare Prandelli already  picked hs "ideal starting formation."    The Azzurri had a practice match game against the Under 18 coach by Alberigo Evani.   Prandelli, supposedly,  testing in the first half the team who will be playing against Slovenia.  As expected, taking preference in the attack were the ex Sampdoria duo Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini while Alberto Gilardino, Sebastian Giovinco and Giuseppe Rossi tested in the  second group.

Doctor of the Italian National team Professor Enrico  Castellacci informing:

-  Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia cannot make it an is ruled out for the match against Slovenia due to a knee injury.  Ranocchia left Coverciano.

- Thiago Motta  recovering and will remain. 

Here is the possible formation based on the trainings from Wednesday:

ITALY (4-3-1-2):  Buffon, Cristian Maggio, Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Federico Balzaretti, Alberto Aquilani, Thiago Motta, Riccardo Montolivo,  Alberto Aquilani, Stefano Mauri, Giampaolo Pazzini, and Antonio Cassano

This s the team playing in the frist half.
 
First goal  in the 8th minute with assist by Pazzini to Riccardo Montolivo.   Hello... just like the "Fiorentina time" when Pazzini played with Montolivo.    Second goal from the penalty spot by Antonio Cassano.   Good news seeing Palermo defender Federico Balzaretti among the  first choice, as well as Lazio midfielder Stefano Mauri.  Novelty is seeing Napoli midfielder Christian Maggio in the role of defender.

Prandelli  testing today Montolivo in the left side .. just yesterday  Prandelli testing in the same position  Claudio Mrachisio.   As expected first goalkeeper is for Captain GIgi Buffon and also confirmed defender Giorgio Chiellini.
