Hello my friends. This is one of those crazy weeks. We finished Serie A Week 22 on Sunday and starting again Serie A Week 23 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday! So, I am just adding this mini PREVIEW for the Italian Serie A Week 23 - Twenty-third Round to be played on Tuesday February 1, Wednesday February 2 and Thursday February 3, 2011 .
Here is the current situation: AC Milan with 47 points either win, draw, or lose will remain the sole leader. There are 4 points difference with second place Napoli having 43 points. Roma went down from the 3rd position 5th position because Lazio took back the third position after defeating Fiorentina. The match Bologna vs AS Roma was postponed for bad weather, so Roma if winning that game can take back the 3rd position. Duel now is for Napoli and Lazio interchanging positions almost every week.. Lazio will play a direct encounter for the Scudetto with AC Milan on Tuesday in San Siro which can take them to the 2nd or remain in the 3rd position if defeating AC Milan and if Chievo defeat or draw with Napoli.
The ones dong well and putting them back to the race for the Scudetto in Inter going from the fifth position to the 4th and still 1 pending game against Fiorentina. Here is the thing, if Inter win this game they will reach 41 points which put them in the 2rd position. Another team in problems is Juventus sinking for whatever reason you want to imagine either injuries , wrong transfer market or lack of understanding on what the coach wants.
Another interesting detail is that Palermo who were the only club not having a penalty in favor this season, got one during the game against Inter. Sadly for Palermo fans, midfielder Javier Pastore faling to convert as Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar saves.
The dark clouds continue in the relegation area. Cesena in the 18th position, Brescia in the 19th, and AS Bari sinking all the way to Serie B. Situation tense that even Brescia coach Mario Beretta was sacked after losing at home against Chievo Verona.
