Hello my friends, good news with the decision of the Lega and Italian Football Association calling off the strike for this weekend.  Yep.  We are having our regular weekly Serie A games.   Start  posting your  predictions for the Serie A Week 16 games on  Saturday December 11 and Sunday December 12.  Let me also congratulate on behalf of Italian Soccer Serie A all our 3 Italian Serie A teams INTER, AC MILAN and AS ROMA who qualified for the Champions League Round of 16.

Wow, guys, so much to cover and things might change so fast this weekend.  However, leadership will remain the same for AC MILAN either win, draw, or lose.  The only one following closely is Lazio with 30 points.  However, goal difference way in favor of  Milan with 14 as opposed to the 8 goals difference from Lazio.  Sure, unless there is a super goleada by Lazio... So, realistically speaking, Milan will keep the first place this week.   Juventus might take  the second position if defeating Lazio.   Relegation area also with a group of 3 teams having 12 points: Brescia, Cesena, and Lecce while the last place is for AS Bari with 10 points.

THE BATTLE of the 23.  Here is where we will have a battle between 4 teams having 23 points each:  INTER, SAMPDORIA, PALERMO, AND NAPOLI. 

 We also have the debut of the debut of  new Brescia coach Mario Beretta replacing coach Giuseppe Iachini SACKED on Monday December 6 2010.   The match of  INTER vs CESENA will be played until January 19 2011 because Inter are participating in the FIFA World Club Cup.

    Serie A leader on Week 16 is AC Milan with 33 points followed by  Lazio  with 30 points and Juventus with 27 points.  Last position is for AS Bari with 10 points. Top scorers are Inter forward Samuel Eto'o, Udinese forward Antonio Di Natale,  Bologna forward Marco Di Vaio and  Napoli forward Edison Cavani with 9 goals each.

Bologna jumping from the 16th position to the 13th position after defeating Chievo Verona in the postponed match from Week 14.  AC Milan being the sole leader with 33 points.    The gap is huge "a mere 10 points."  However, Milan risking to lose points.  If Milan win this game and Juventus defeat Lazio, then, we are in with a 6 points difference gap between the first and second position.

Good and bad news for AC Milan.  Good because they are the sole leaders in Serie A and qualified for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.  Bad news because Milan lost their Champions League match against Ajax in San Siro plus losing for injuries during the game defender Thiago Silva and midfielder Mathieu Flamini.

Milan coach Allegri will have to rely on defender Mario Yepes to take Thiago's place.  As for goalkeepers, Allegri, most likely, will pick again Christian Abbiati who has been playing as first goalkeeper while goalkeeper Marco Amelia back among the substitutes.  Amelia was the goalkeeper in the Champions League match against Ajax.

       

Here we have a battle of the top scorers.  Yep.  Top scorer for Bologna is their enigmatic captain Marco Di Vaio with 9 goals sharing the top spot with Inter forward Samuel Eto'o, Napoli forward Edison Cavani, Udinese forward Antonio Di Natale all having 9 goals.  Top scorer for AC Milan is forward Zlatan Ibrahiovic with 8 goals and he might  join the top scorer position this week.

Bologna having problems with injuries too.  Midfielder Diego Perez with muscular problems on his right leg.  Still under consideration  Britos and Mudingayi.

Here is the disciplinary situation.  One suspended player for BRESCIA:  Martinez and Three players carrying one yellow card: Jonathan Zebina, Vass, and Bega.   Sampdoria without suspended players nor players with yellow cards.

Juventus can grab this home victory and be the actual serious contender for the Milanisti.
