"Desidero porgere le mie più sincere scuse a tutte le persone che sono state scioccate e offese dal mio spiacevole gesto domenica scorsa a Verona. Le mie scuse vanno a tutti i protagonisti della partita, all'arbitro, che può non aver visto questo fallo perché fuori dalla sua visuale, ma anche ai tifosi dell'Inter e a tutti coloro che amano il calcio. Le mie scuse vanno anche all'allenatore ai miei compagni, che lascio per tre partite di Serie A. Infine, chiedo perdono al mio presidente Massimo Moratti, che ha sempre avuto fiducia in me".

Paolo Casarin, the referee designator of the Serie A (the man who assigns referees and supervises them), on Radio1:
"La prima cosa che doveva pensare era che se l'arbitro lo avesse visto lo avrebbe espulso, invece è rimasto in campo con la possibilità di rovesciare il risultato e sarebbe stato ancora più grave. Il gesto di Eto'o avrà il seguito ovvio, tutto è contro di lui in questo momento". Casarin, sempre ai microfoni di Radio1, se la prende poi con il direttore di gara e i suoi assistenti: "Sono tutti a guardare il pallone. Non aver visto la testata è un errore che non ci doveva essere".
"The first thing that you have to think of was if the referee had seen it, he would would red carded him. Instead, Eto'o remained on the field with the possibility to change the outcome which would have been even worse. The gesture by Eto'o will be followed, obviously, and everyone is against him right now... All of them (match official and his assistants) were looking at the ball. Not having seen the headbutt was a mistake that should not have happened."

Inter legend, Sandro Mazzola, on what ails his former team, on Radio Anch'io Lo Sport:
"In certain moments on the pitch, the players aren't able to control themselves and do instinctive things. For me in the gesture by Eto'o, there wasn't much force and it is strange that he did it to a very proper player. This indicates that there is confusion in this team. Inter playing on three fronts, and after the World Cup, is wiped-out."

Cruyff said that Ibrahimovic is better adapted to Italian football? Why didn't he say that he wasn't adapted to Spanish football before buying him?"
