Italy Head Coach Cesare Prandelli  meeting with the players for the first training of the Italian National team on Monday November 15 2010 at the Technical Center of Coverciano.  Italy are preparing  for the International friendly game Italy vs Romania on Wednesday November 17 2010 in Klagenfurt, Austria

 News  is that  Prandelli have to rearrange his strategy  because  his previous "Italy" was  formed around Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano and since he is not called  up    adjustments are needed.  

Cassano not called up because  he has not played with his club "Sampdoria" after the disciplinary situation taken by Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone due to the insults from Cassano. 
 

Here is the thing, Taking the place of Cassano might be Manchester City Mario Balotelli who was called up and now Prandelli  checking his  skills and  how  he will adapt with the team.   Good thing is that  this is only a friendly game where Prandelli   can test players and strategies not a qualifier game.

Question is what will happen if Prandelli now base his  team on  the figure of Balotelli and   in the future he  has  also disciplinary  issues with his club?   Will Prandelli  rearrange  the whole team again?  Will not be better  to  have different options  with players not being so  controversial  with their character? 

Prandelli said that  he is not condemning  Cassano, but respect the decisions of the Club.   "Out of the maximum respect for Sampdoria and their president we didn't want to create any issues so I decided not to call him up."

Is not that Prandelli is closing the doors to Cassano. On the contrary, Prandelli said that  he will call up Cassano if he returns to play with his team or another.   Point is that Prandelli also emphasizes that Cassano  keep a good behavior.

In the midfield news is the  integration of Argentinian born Lazio midfielder Cristian Ledesma.    it's the first called up from Ledesma who declares to feel 100% Italian. 

Some protesting for the called up  of Ledesma, though, the President of the Italian Football federation Giancarlo Abate defends the decision of Prandelli for calling Ledesma.  

Cristian Ledesma   is  the second foreign born player after Juventus striker brazilian born Amauri to have been called up by Prandelli forming his new Italy.

Abate saying that  "the coach is free to pick all the players who hold an Italian playing license.  Ledesma is one of those, he's an Italian citizen in every respect, just as is Amauri. On top of that, he's having a great season with Lazio and the friendly against Romania will allow the coach to experiment before March."

Is Prandelli   taking the  wrong direction by relying on Cassano and Balotelli?  Should Prandelli  based his team  with other players not having much discipline problems?   Or it is ok to rely on Cassano and Balotelli,   Anyway.  Will you pick Cassano or Balotelli as the guiding force of the Italian National team, or who?
