ItaliaIt's the official presentation of new Italy Under-21 coach Ciro Ferrara on Monday, October 25, 2010 replacing Pierluigi Casiraghi. Ciro signing a three-year contract. Assistant coach of Ciro is his ex Juventus teammate Angelo Peruzzi. Ferrara was born in Naples on February 11, 1967 currently 42 years old.
Ferrara declaring, "“I am happy but also surprised, I didn't expect the call from the Federation. For me this is not a step back, but a chance to grow." Ferrara with the challenge to rebuild the new Italy Under 21 after the elimination of the Under-21 from the UEFA Under 21 European Championship and the Olympics 2012.

Ferrara also saying that he was chosen as coach of the Under-21 for his "technical and human qualities. I am not even Sacchi-like."
One of the novelties is that Ferrara is planning to rebuild the Under-21 without forward Mario Balotelli.--at least for the moment. "Mario has other objectives and must continue his career with the Italian national team. He has class and experience," said Ferrara.
Ciro managerial experience include assistant coach of the Italian National team from 2005 to 2006, 2008 - 2009 and coach of Juventus from 2009-2010.
