It's Official Diego Maradona no longer Argentina Head Coach as of Tuesday, July 27, 2010

It's official the Argentine Football Association unanimously deciding not to renew Maradona's contract.  Here is the thing.  The Federation had offered Maradona a four year contract until the 2014 World Cup.  Maradona had stated that he would accept only if his entire staff remained with him.   It seems the Federation were not happy with the entire staff.   The announcement made on Tuesday, July 27, 2010.   Sergio Batista who is the Youth team manager  was appointed as interim coach for the friendly game on August 11 against Ireland in Dublin.

Argentina Football Association President Julio Grondona clearly telling Maradona to replace some of his staff which included Maradona's close friend Alejandro Mancuso.  Maradona not agreeing, and there you see the result he is out now with a unanimous decision from the Federation not renew Maradona.

Argentina were eliminated in the 2010 World Cup Quarterfinals with a super goleada  Argentina 0 - 4 Germany . 


  Maradona also expressed that one of his dreams is to coach the Italian Serie A team Napoli.   Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentis thanked Maradona for his dream  and say he has open doors in Napoli.  Wait, but Napoli already has coach Walter Mazzarri.  Wow, so are you expecting to see soon Maradona in Napoli in case of Mazzarri leaving?
