Although it is not the World Cup Final, Uruguay look to win this game to continue their  best  record in the World Cup  since 1950 in Brazil when they won the 2nd World Cup title.  Germany still disappointed for having lost against Spain for the final  look at least for the third place.   There are 4 Italy Serie A players in Uruguay National Soccer team:  Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, Juventus defender Martin Caceres, Napoli midfielder Walter Gargano, and Palermo forward Edinson Cavani.

Germany and Uruguay are playing for the second time for a third place in a FIFA World Cup. Germany and Uruguay also playing in the  quarterfinals in the 1966 England World Cup where Germany won 4-0 and in the 1986 Mexico World Cup ending in a draw 1-1.  Germany and Uruguay playing a total of 9 international games with Germany taking the lead having 6 victories while Uruguay only 1 victory in 1928 edition of the Olympic Football Tournament.

Luis Suarez returns after missing the semi-final against Netherlands through suspension while captain Diego Lugano ready to play after missing the game against Netherlands for a knee injury.   For Germany, Thomas Mueller is now available after having been disqualified for the Spain match.

Challenge is for Uruguay forward Diego Forlan having 4 goals to reach Netherlands midfielder Wesley Sneijder and Spain forward David Villa having 5 goals.  By the way, Paul the Octopus  predicted Germany winning,  will Uruguay prove him wrong?

Referee Archundia whistling the beginning of the match. It's show time for both teams... who will win????  

OOPSSSSSSS Guys in the 3rd minute already a goal by Germany Thomas Muller but it is offside...... 

In the 4th minute first yellow card of the match is for Germany Denis Aogo for a bad tackle on Diego Perez, and this could have been a red one guys.

In the 5th minute, from the free kick taken by Diego Forlan resulting with a yellow card for Germany  Cacau for a handball trying to stop the shot from Forlan.

Wow, 2 yellow cards already not even in 10 minutes!!!

In the 9th minute, corner for Germany conceded by Maximiliano Perreira, then, another corner conceded  by Jorge Fucile..... Oh my goshhhh a scary moment when Germany pressing in Uruguay area and like a bombarding  from a corner shot by Ozil and hitting the cross bar, then, on the rebound Germany insisting with Thomas Muller..... 

 wow, wow, wow.. guys,  goooaaallllllllllllllll  in the 18th minute, a long right footed shot from Germany Thomas Muller  almost from the center and it goes directly to the arms of Muslera to block but don't ask me how ... guys, Muslera blocking the ball  in the bottom right  corner but rebound and there you go  while Lugano runs  lifting his hand protesting for I don't know why, but hello, it is more like a mistake by Muslera  and no defense  to support him so there you go... it is a goooalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll and now an uphill battle for Uruguay and Paul the Octopus must be saying "I told you so."  I

In the 25th minute, Uruguay insisting first with Luis Suarez delivering a right footed shot .. then with Diego Forlan and pressing is constant....  they want to win this match...


 Gosh, guys, in the 28th minute a counterattack from Uruguay and you see Luis Suarez running fast observing his teammates... then, seeing our Palermo forward Edison Cavani available ready to make the cross... yep, yep, yep...Cavani seeing his golden moment with a right footed shot towards the bottom right corner and the sunny sun from Uruguay and Sicily celebrating because it is the first goal from Cavani in this World Cup and the third with Uruguay National team..  Immediate celebration with his teammates...now it's time to go forward.....

Here it is Uruguay and Palermo forward Edison Cavani delivering his right footed shot to equalize the score.  You bet all Uruguay fans were pushing the bandwagon....   forza

In the 41st minute, Uruguay had a golden moment to score the second goal when Diego Forlan made the perfect cross to Luis Suarez coming from the right side...though, Suarez  instead of passing maybe to Cavani who was positioning  in a better place... Suarez tries  a right footed shot and misses the target.. Suarez put his hands in the face because he knows he wasted this chance... oh welll.....

In the 42nd minute, ooopsss what is Lugano doing??? oh no way joseeeee a hand....  geee Lugano stopping the shot from Ozil with a hand and it is obvious in the replay.... free kick for Germany..
 
In the 43rd minute a free kick for Germany .... Schweinsteiger shoots and is deflected.. corner ...  I am going insaneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee hello.....  it is raining ... in the 44th minute you wont believe it but neither Muslera making another mistake when he tried to hold the ball after the corner from Ozil and instead slipping from his hands.. maybe because the water????    wow. this is an agonizing match... Come on Muslera, forza... regroup.....

Oh my goshhhhh.. hellooooooo.... guys, Edison Cavani super inspired today... in the 48th minute, there you see Cavani like a wild horse.... only to be denied by Germany goalkeeper Butt... the ball still in the area and Suarez trying a shot and there is again like making a gymnastic jump you see goalkeeper Butt  saving too...


 Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,,,,,  in the 51st minute,  hold me gusysssssaa  no, don't hold me... let me jumppppppp jump so highhhh to shout this goal from DIEGOOOOO FORLANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNn  GOOOOOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLllll and Paul the Octopus must be wondering right now.... an excellent cross by Egidio Arevalo  first accomodating the ball with the head continuing running, then almost falling and keep going to make the cross to Diego Forlan despite his injured and then you see Forlan blasting Germany goalkeeper Butt with a right footed shot... It's the 5th goal from Forlan in the World Cup.

 This is a fast rollercoaster right... because now it is Germany to equalize the score and now I am lighting a candle praying for Uruguayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy oh come onnnnnnnnnnnnn...  guys, in the 56th minute it is Jerome Boateng making the cross to Marcell Jansen with a headed shot from the left side..... Muslera anticipates but the ball just inside the net... now Paul the Octopus must be wondering again....

Let me tell you that Germany goalkeeper Butt is  playing a super game and he is a substitute!   Uruguay would have scored already another goal...at least... but this goalkeeper is denying every chance.....

 In the 81st minute from a corner conceded by Diego Lugano  guys.. there is the goal for Germany with Sami Khedira heading the ball from close range and  Muslera despite his stretch cannot reach to stop the ball.  Now, Germany taking the lead... and coach Joachim Loew jumping to celebrate the goal.  It's the first goal from Khedira with the national team.

In the 92nd minute Referee Archundia gives a yellow card to Friedrich ... free kick for Uruguay and this is the last chance for Uruguay to equalize....  this is it... last attempt for Uruguay from a free kick  with Diego Forlan delivering a right footed shot and guys,,,, just in the last minute and the ball hit the crossbar..... Referee Archundia now whistles the end of the game and Paul the Octopus got this prediction right......

Anyway, guys, come on, join me to give a standing ovation to Uruguay National Soccer team for having done a good World Cup improving their performance fighting until the end.
