Curious detail in this game is about Spain forward David Villa having scored in each of the last 3 games of Spain in World Cup equaling the record from Telmo Zarra made it in 1950 and from Fernando Hierro (World Cup 1998-2002).
Oops,in the 1st minute, first shot on goal is for Paraguay with an assist by Oscar Cardozo to Santana taking advantage of Spain leaving the door open but his low ball shot goes directly to the arm of goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
In the 8th minute, Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas taking way too long to clear and in that "slow motion response," Paraguay speeding up to snatch the ball away from Casillas with Valdes making a baseball type slide.... Casillas was lucky this did not end with a goal.
Paraguay showing determination again, and in the 35th minute superman? batman? spiderman? wowwww awesome when Valdez run forward to make a pass for Morel ... though it ends up sending a cross in the far post when you see Santana flying in action and missing the target...
