Napoli City Reward Napoli Forward Fabio Quagliarella for his Dedication and Commitment to the Italian National Team

Covering the 2010 World Cup South Africa from an Italian Perspective


The City of Napoli presented an award to Napoli forward Fabio Quagliarella on Tuesday, June 29 in Piazza Matteoti for his contribution in the World Cup by putting the name of Castellamare and Napoli on the spot. President Luigi Cesaro honoring Quagliarella for is dedication with the Italian National team in the 2010 World Cup South Africa. Quagliarella fighting until the end for Italy's qualification to the Round of 16 and even scoring a precious goal against Slovakia in the 80th minute. Yet, it was not enough to save Italy. However, the personal motivation and commitment from Quagliarella was obvious. SLOVAKIA 3 - 2 ITALY

Quagliarella was born in Castellamare di Stabia which is a small town in the province of Napoli. It is situated on the Bay of Naples about 30 kilometers southeast of Naples, on the route to Sorrento.  This is why for Neapolitan people it meant a lot to see one of hisown people fighting for Italy's honor in the World Cup. Many see Quagliarella as a role model in Napoli and surely in Castellamare he is the idol of the youth.

We sure hope to see more of Quagliarella giving pride to the Neapolitan people, especially now in the Europa League 2010 - 2011 with Napoli team. Forza and congrats Qua qua qua qua Quagliarella...
