 Congrats to Ghana National football team for  qualifying to the quarterfinals, especially to the 6 Serie A players playing with Ghana.  Also well done to the USA National team for their effort and  arriving until the Round of 16. The game went to extra time after ending regular time 1-1.  Two 15-minutes extra needed for Ghana to grab the victory with a goal by Asamoah Gyan in the 93rd minute.

Ghana is the only African nation remaining in the 2010 World Cup competition and it is the third African nation advancing to the last eight, Cameroon  did it in 1990 and Senegal in 2002.  . 

Second game of the World Cup Round of 16.. The game extending  to extra time and it is the second time Ghana eliminates the USA  in the World Cup, first in 2006.  Ghana will play the Quarterfinal match against Uruguay on July 2 in Johannesburg.  Uruguay   defeated Korea Republic passing to the quarterfinals since 1970. Uruguay 2 - 1 Korea Republic .

Former USA president Bill Clinton is at the stadium watching the game too, he brought good luck to the team and he is here again.  I am supporting  our Serie A players in both teams. Personally, as Italian Latino American, my heart is for the USA in this game.  So come on....

Opening the score is Ghana.  In the 5th minute Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng blasting USA goalkeeper Tim Howard, midfielder Ricardo Clark giving the ball away on half-way while Boateng picked it up delivering a low shot inside the left-hand post despite Howard making a super stretch... well, now it is an uphill battle for USA ...

In the 17th minute, Referee Viktor Kassai giving a  yellow card to  USA defender Steve Cherundolo for a bad tackle.....

First substitution of the USA in the 31st minute. Coach Bob Bradley  substitutes Ricardo Clark and brings Maurice Edu.  wow.. well, for tactics?  hum?  Clark is not injured, but guys kind of looking way too nervous and mistakes plus getting a yellow card.  Anyway, Bradley embraces him and tell him few words like encouraging him, consoling him putting an arm around his shoulder like saying don't worry, you did your best.

Oh gosh guys, in the 34th minute, Findley had his  opportunity to score in the 34th minute all alone   running and almost one on one with goalkeeper Kingson and he saves his low shot straight to his legs    blocking... oh.. wow...

First half is over with 48% ball possession USA and 52% ball possession Ghana.

Second half starts with substitutions...
In the 46th minute coach Bob Bradley substitutes Robbie Findley and brings Benny Feilhaber.

What a save by Kingson in the 47th minute!!!!  Donovan to Altidore and then to Feilhaber making his first shot with the ball though Kingson saving.... oh welll guys, we are in for a ride..  Looks like Feilhaber is ready to rock....

In the 61st minute oh oh spaghetti ohhhhhh  Hey guys....  penalty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Hello a clear penaltyyyyyy!  No doubt about it.. It's a super crystal clear penalty!!!!!  Oh you bet it is and Referee Viktor Hassai saw it clearly too.  Guys Ghana Jonathan  brings down  Clint Dempsey  and get a yellow card too.

Oh wowwww  taking the penalty spot is  Landon Donovan.....   now it's time to  pray and  see all the ritual from Donovan before shooting the penalty.... yeahhhh  hello.. Donovan has his ritual  kneeling kissing the wrists.... and boyyyyyy  my heart is beating so fasssstttt and you bet every USA fan must be praying for Donovannnnnn  oh goshhh come on....
