A  surprise with Denmark not only defeating favorites Cameroon with leader forward Samuel Eto'o, but eliminating them from the 2010 World Cup.  Eto'o  despite his opening goal in the 10th minute was not enough to save Cameroon.  Denmark fighting and you could see the constant  duel between Denmark and Palermo defender Simon Kjaer controlling Cameroon forward Eto'o and company.

It was a battle to win or lose, losing meaning the elimination.  Was it too much pressure for Cameroon?   This defeat indirectly put  Netherlands as the first qualified team to pass to the next round having  6 points and only 1 more game left with 3 goals in favor compared to Japan and Denmark having only 3 points each.  Cameroon losing their  first two games against Japan rand now Denmark remaining with a flat 0 point.  The last game will be for the honor, at least, against  Netherlands.

Eto'o did his part fighting during the entire game.  An error from Denmark midfielder Christian Poulsen facilitating his chance to open the score in the 10th minute after Achille Webo  pounced on the bad pass from Poulsen. You bet Eto'o did not waste the chance and bam hitting the net.   It is his 46th goal for Cameroon in 98 appearances.

Bad news  is for Denmark and Palermo defender Simon Kjaer missing the next game against Japan after getting a yellow card in this game for a foul on Aboubakar.  Kjaer already collected a yellow card in the match against Netherlands.

After the game, Eto'o disappointed and considering the biggest failure of his international career.  "All my season was focused to be ready for this World Cup. It'sthe only thing I could think about."  However, guys, I will applaud Eto'o for his dedication to his country and being one of the top footballers.  Sure, it would have been a perfect season to reach the final of the World Cup after winning Italy Serie A Scudetto and the UEFA Champions League with his club Inter Milan.  Time to move on....
