It's a historic victory for Greece National football team winning for the first time in a World Cup.  Greece also scoring for the first time in their World Cup history in the 44th minute with Salpingidis in the match against Nigeria while adding the 3 points. Second goal scored in the 71st minute by Torosidis .  Nigeria finished playing with 10 men.

2 Italy Serie A  and 1 Serie B Players with GREECE:

Bologna Defender Evangelos Moras  not played.

Genoa Defender Socrates Papastathopoulos, got a yellow card in the 15th minute, played 37 minutes and substituted by Georgios Samaras.

Midfielder Alexandros Tziolis (AC Siena  Serie B. ) played all 90 minutes and got a yellow card in the 60th minute.
