AS Livorno Coach Serse Cosmi Sacked on Monday, April 5, 2010 and Replaced by Coach Gennaro Ruotolo

AS Livorno President  Serse Cosmi sacked on Monday, April 5, 2010. Cosmi becomes the 13th coach to be sacked in the 2009 - 2010 Italian Serie A. Cosmi forms part of the 15 changes of coaches in the present Serie A season.

The announcement made in AS Livorno official website, "Livorno officially announce that they have given the first team coach position to Gennaro Ruotolo. At the same time the club announce that they have relieved Serse Cosmi of the job of coach."

Here is the thing. Livorno are in the very last position and with only 6 more games to end the season. The remaining six games from Livorno are against Udinese, Chievo Verona, Catania, Sampdoria, and Lazio.

Livorno have only 26 points, out of the 32 games winning only 6 games, 8 draws and losing 18. Livorno scoring22 goals while conceding 48 goals having a negative goal difference -26.

 Gennaro Ruotolo was originally the first coach after promoting the club from Serie B. The issue was that legally Ruotolo could not appear as the official coach beacuse hed did not the proper coaching badges. Therefore, Ruotolo was assigned as assistant to coach Vittorio Russo. Technically, Ruotolo can finish coaching Livorno until the end of the season.
