Are you touring and visiting Beverly Hills and want to watch Italy Serie A Games on Sundays?  Guys, you should go to  Via Alloro Restaurant     while having a super Italian lunch  with traditional and Italian Chef Giacomino and Tanino Drago watch the games too!.  Let me tell you, I went to my usual Mondays Running Club in Beverly Hills and right after  I found Chef Giacomino Drago in one of his 8 restaurants "Il Pastaio," and bang!!!  We had a blast talking about the Italian Serie A and how our teams were doing. 

Immediately, Giacomino told me that they  show the games of Italy Serie A on Sundays during lunch live at Via Alloro Restaurant.  So, hello, say no more, if you are in the area touring Beverly Hills make your stop for lunch and don't miss the Serie A games on Sundays.   By the way guys, I love the food from "Il Pastaio" Restaurant and the friendly and warm attention to customers.  Ah... guys, prices are affordable ranging from about $10 to 40 dollars depending on what you eat... check the Lunch menu.

Here is a brief background on the Drago Family.  Twenty years ago the Drago family name was introduced to the Los Angeles restaurant scene and has been a staple ever since. Renowned chefs/restaurateurs, brother’s Giacomino and Tanino Drago own eight restaurants collectively, all very successful including Tanino in Westwood and Il Pastaio in Beverly Hills.  Now they are collaborating on their newest venture with a fresh new look and feel named Via Alloro  located at 01 Canon Drive on the corner of Dayton Way in Beverly Hills inaugurated in July 2009.  

Giacomino and Tanino are part of an amazing Italian culinary family from Galati Mamertino in Messina, a region in Sicily.  They  are two of eight brothers and sisters.  Talking about tradition!  Incredible, guys, the house that they were born and raised in is the same house that their parents still live in today.  Awesome!

So what does "Via Alloro" means in English?  Via Alloro is historical as it is named after the street they grew up on along with many other relatives. Cowabunga!!!!   Alloro in Italian means bay leaf, a spice that is an essential part of Italian cooking and will play a role in numerous recipes.

Who is Giacomino? Giacomino Drago is the youngest of eight children from the small town of Galati Mamertino in Sicily's Messina region where the family grew and made almost everything they ate; from pressing olives to make olive oil, to making fresh cheeses, to watching his father make wine from their own vineyards.  That's tradition...

Get this one, guys, Giacomino began cooking when he was 11 years old at the family's area restaurant Portella Gazzana until the age of 16.  Talking about trial and errors as they way to success. Giacomino showed great interest in the family kitchen experimenting with risotto from locally harvested Porcini mushrooms, even though his first few attempts didn't exactly pan out.  Years after... ecco... a well renowned Chef carrying Italian food tradition and flavor.   Way to go Giacomino!!!  Thumbs up and Forza Italia buddy!  So... where is my pasta and bruschetta?  ah... for me add extra basilico I love it!!

Besides hosting the blog Italian Soccer Serie A, I started running guys to burn calories because I spend so many hours in front of the computer.... Mondays are my running days with Lulemon Running Club in Beverly Hills.... 2 miles at least .  My coach is Tilita Lutterloh. It's free and after running there is a complimentary Yoga Class by Angie Stewart.   I keep record of my running through the NIKE Program online.  I love it.
