Week 31 - 2009 - 2010 ITALY SERIE A PREVIEW Thirty First Round on Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28, 2010 "Post your predictions now"
Here we go again with another rushed preview after Wednesda'ys mid week games for the Serie A Week 30. Now, we have only 2 days to post our predictions for the Serie A Week 31 on Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28, 2010.
A turning point for the race for the Scudetto not adapted for a good heart!!! Imagine how quick things changed. Inter and Milan had only 1 point difference and now we are back to 4 points difference because AC Milan failed to defeat Parma. Though, wait, here is the turning point because AS Roma overtake the second position from AC Milan after defeating Bologna. Yep!!! You are reading right. Roma and AC Milan both have 59 points but on goal scoring Roma have the best part. This is why the match to watch is this Saturday "AS ROMA vs INTER." Here we might see the flying away from Inter up up and above if defeating Roma or distances shortening to 1 point with Roma... ahhhh wait.. but if AC Milan defeat Lazio then, Roma and Milan will be only 1 point away from Inter.
Here is my PREVIEW of the Italian Serie A Week 31 - Thirty First Round scheduled on Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28, 2010.

AS ROMA - INTER (before the match)
Olimpico di Roma Stadium
Serie A Standing: AS Roma 2nd position,59 points
Inter 1st position, 63 points
Talking about wanting to be ready for this CRUCIAL SCUDETTO match! AS Roma had changed their afternoon training on Thursday to the morning session at the Centro Sportivo Trigoria.
Roma and Inter won their respective games and the difference is only 4 points. Roma might shorten the distance to 1 point if defeating Inter. Though, not so fast... Roma and AC Milan both have 59 points each, so you will expect Roma would be rooting for Lazio to defeat Milan in San Siro.
Now, if Inter defeats Roma and Lazio defeats AC Milan, then, hey, hey, hey, Inter will be flying away with 64 points increasing the distance to 7 points!!!!! You bet AC Milan must be banging their heads into the wall for not having profit the chance to defeat Parma and keep the 1 point difference It's up to Roma now to move the pieces of the game....
Here is another detail guys. If Roma defeat Inter and both arrive with same points in the last match, then, ROMA would win the Scudetto because on the first round Roma managed a draw at the Giuseppe Meazza.
Inter coach Jose Mourinho is not talking but keeping silence... Roma coach Ranieri is super motivating his team and the fans to support the team. For Inter, it is defender Ivan Cordoba sending the message to Roma on not keeping their hopes high because they won't let go the leadership.
Roma captain Francesco Totti still training to see if he might play against Inter on Saturday.
If not, the one commanding the troop will be Daniele De Rossi.
Here is the probable formation for AS ROMA (4-2-3-1): Julio Sergio, Cassetti, Philippe Mexes, Juan, John Arne Riise, David Pizarro, Daniele De Rossi, Rodrigo Taddei, Simone Perrotta, Mirko Vucinic and Luca Toni.
Here is the probable formation for INTER (4-3-1-2): Julio Cesar, Maicon, Lucio, Walter Samuel, Christian Chivu, Javier Zanetti, Esteban Cambiasso, Dejan Stankovic, Wesley Sneijder, Samuel Eto'o, and Goran Pandev.

Anna Italia Prediction: AS ROMA

San Siro Stadium
Serie A Standing: AC Milan 3rd position, 59 points
Lazio 16th position, 32 points
AC Milan must be repenting and reciting the "MEA COLPA" after wasting the chance to defeat Parma and keep the 1 point difference with Inter. Now, Milan went down to the third position even if having the same 59 points as Roma, but they have better goal scoring average than Milan. Only 8 more games and is not that Inter would be sitting to wait for Milan and Roma to catch up....
I said on one of my previews that AC Milan were pushing forward Pato before recovering from injury and risking to have him out for not being ready. Well, that's what happened.. Pato risks to be out for 20 or more days and now the responsibility is on Filippo Inzaghi and Marco Borriello because Ronaldinho is suspended for this match.
Lazio having an awakening after months of constant struggle. Two consecutive victories against Cagliari and Siena, now they are motivated to confirm their winning trend by defeating AC Milan in San Siro. Can they do it? Yes, they can! Milan have been so inconsistent this season and facing key injured players with Alessandro Nesta and Pato out, plus barely recovering others make it even easier for Lazio.
Milan facing problems also for the suspension of Ronaldinho and Andrea Pirlo for this game. Four players also having one yellow card: Seedorf, Pirlo, and Thiago Silva.
Milan resume training on Thursday morning. For Friday, Milan training in the morning at 11 while Lazio will train in the afternoon at 15.
Milan have welcome Lazio in San Siro 66 times adn the stats in favor of AC Milan with 39 victories, 18 draws, and only 9 victories for Lazio. AC Milan with 135 goals while Lazio only 63 goals. 7 penalties assigned to Milan and Lazio and all converted.
The match with more goals between AC Milan vs Lazio back on
October 18, 1992, Milan-Lazio 5-3 - Goals: 13' Gullit, 15' Papin, 34' rpen 61' rig. Van Basten, 80' Simone(MILAN); 21' Winter, 52' Fuser, 65' Signori (LAZIO).

Lazio have no suspended players. Five players with one yellow card: Foggia, Baronnio, Rocchi, Floccari, and Ledesma.
Here is the probable formation for AC MILAN (4-3-3): Christian Abbiati, Gianluca Zambrotta, Thiago Silva, Giuseppe Favalli, Luca Antonini, Gennaro Gattuso, Clarence Seedorf, Mancini, Klaas Jan Huntelaar, and Borriello.
Here is the probable formation for LAZIO (3-5-2): Fernando Muslera, Dias, Guglielmo Stendardo, Radu, Stephan Lictsteiner, Christian Brocchi, Ledesma, Mauri, Kolarov, Mauro Zarate, and Tommaso Rocchi

Anna Italia Prediction: AC MILAN
Renzo Barbera Stadium
Serie A Standing: Palermo 4th position, 48 points
Bologna 15th position, 35 points
Palermo have the chance to keep fighting all the way towards the Champions League even against all odds. Yep! Sampdoria following closely with 47 points while Napoli and Juventus with 45 points.
Here is a chance for Palermo to win at the Barbera against Bologna. The stats are totally in favor of Palermo. Bologna winning only 2 games at the Barbera. First time Bologna went at the Barbera back on October 2, 1932. First time Bologna winning in Palermo two years later with the goal by Gasperi. Out of the 22 games played in Palermo, 14 victories for Palermo, 6 draws and only 2 victories for Bologna.
Palermo cannot waste more points to keep the 4th position or prepare to go down the table. Three suspended players for Palermo: Carrozzierri, Edison Cavani, Federico Balzaretti, and Simon Kjaer. Four players with one yellow card: Blasi, Bresciano, Goian, and Cesare Bovo.
One suspended player for Bologna: Raggi. Three players with one yellow card: Portanova, Guana, and Modesto.
Here is the probable formation for PALERMO (4-3-1-2): Salvatore Sirigu, Cassani, Goian, Cesare Bovo, Celutska, Migliaccio, Nocerino, Bertolo, Javier Pastore, Fabrizio Miccoli, and Edison Cavani.

Anna Italia Prediction: CHIEVO VERONA
FIORENTINA - UDINESE (before the match)
Artemio Franchi Stadium
Serie A Standing: Fiorentina 10th position, 41 points
Udinese 17th position, 32 points
Wow, guys, what a dilemma for Udinese instead of rushing toward salvation they are now knocking at the relegation area! Yep! What is mind blowing is that Udinese have the top scorer of the Serie A forward Antonio Di Natale scoring so far 21 goals and still not enough to keep the team in a safe zone or among the top 4 teams.
Fiorentina also living a bad moment down in the 10th position and their dream to be in the Champions League next season not looking so bright either.

Gianluca Comotto and Udinese forward Antonio Di Natale
Here is the probable formation for FIORENTINA (4-4-1-1): Sebastien Frey, Gianluca Comotto, Natali, Per Kroldrup, Felipe, Santana, Cristiano Zanetti, Riccardo Montolivo, Massimo Gobbi, Jovetic, and Alberto Gilardino.
Here is the probable formation for UDINESE (4-3-3): Samir Handanovic, Isla, Zapata, Lukovic, Pasquale, Paolo Sammarco, Gokhan Inler, Asamoah, Sanchez, Antonio Di Natale and Floro Flores.
Anna Italia Prediction: FIORENTINA
JUVENTUS - ATALANTA (before the match)
Olimpico di Torino Stadium
Serie A Standing: Juventus 7th position, 45 points
Atalanta 18th position, 28 points
Juventus are collapsing, Juventus in crisis, Juventus living a dark period and Napoli sending Juventus crying all the way to Vinovo after losing the lead with the early goal by Chiellini. Juventus now with only 8 games remaining risk being out of the Champions League next season. Injuries keep piling with midfielder Christian Poulsen substituted for injury during the match against Napoli.
Here is the probable formation for JUVENTUS: (4-3-1-2): Maninger, Grygera, Nicola Legrottaglie, Giorgio Chiellini, Paolo De Ceglie, Claudio Marchisio, Felipe Melo, Mohamed Sissoko, Diego, David Trezeguet, and Alessandro Del Piero.
Here is the probable formation for ATALANTA (4-4-2): Consigli, Gyorgy Garics, Bianco, Manfredini, Peluso, Ferreira Pinto, Simone Padoin, Guarente, Jaime Valdes, Simone Tiribocchi, and Amoruso

Napoli on cloud 9 after defeating Juventus in the San Paolo Stadium and climbing to the 6th position. The dream for the Europa League is closer but the target now is also pointing for the Champions League.
Here is the probable formation for NAPOLI (3-4-2-1): Morgan De Sanctis, Grava, Paolo Cannavaro, Hugo Campagnaro, Cristian Maggio, Pazienza, Walter Gargano, Zuniga, Marek Hamsik, Fabio Quagliarella, and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Here is the probable formation for CATANIA (4-3-3): Andujar, Alvarez, Silvestre, Terlizzi, Augustyn, Izco, Biagianti, Ricchiuti, Martinez, Maxi Lopez, and Giuseppe Mascara.
Anna Italia Prediction: NAPOLI

Anna Italia Prediction: SAMPDORIA
AC SIENA - GENOA (before the match)
Artemio Franchi Stadium
Serie A Standing: AC Siena 19th position, 25 points
Genoa 8th position, 43 points
Siena cyring out loud for help for survival and maybe risking relegation next season. Mathematically speaking they still can make it. Genoa is only 5 points away Palermo with 48 points and fight for the coveted 4th position to have a spot for the Champions League. The least Genoa can do is arrive either in the 5th or 6th position to have a spot for the Europa League.
Here is the probable formation for AC SIENA (4-1-4-1): Curci, Rosi, Cribari, Pratalli, Del Grosso, Ekdal, Reginaldo, Vergassola, Tziolis, Ghezzal, Massimo Maccarone.
Here is the probable formation for GENOA (3-4-3): Marco Amelia, Papasthatopoulos, Bocchetti, Moretti, Rossi, Kharja, Juric, Domenico Criscito, Rodrigo Palacio, Giuseppe Sculli, and Raffaele Palladino.
