Week 30 - 2009 - 2010 ITALY SERIE A PREVIEW Thirty Round on Wednesday, March 24 and Thursday, March 25, 2010 "Post your predictions now"

By Anna Italia

I am rushing to post this preview... Games finished on Sunday, but we have only 2 more days to post our predictions for the Serie A Week 30 on Wednesday, March 24!  Yep... gee... then, next games on Saturday and Sunday..

The race for the Scudetto not adapted for a good heart.. wow, heart attacks, blood pressure, headaches... everything is happening in these last weeks.  Inter and AC Milan both ended with a draw with their respective games and the distance remains with just ONE POINT.   Inter have 60 points and AC Milan have 59 points.   The battle this week also on the 4th position with Palermo and Sampdoria having 47 points each, but on goal difference Palermo have the advance with 6 goals against the 2 from Sampdoria.

Here is  my  PREVIEW of the Italian Serie A Week 30 - Thirty Round  scheduled on Wednesday, March 24 and Thursday, March 25, 2010.

Two ongoing surveys:

-
Who will win the 2009 - 2010 Italy Serie A Scudetto?

- Who will be the TWELFTH Coach to be Sacked in the 2009 - 2010 Italian Serie A Season?

PARMA - AC MILAN (before the match)
Ennio Tardini Stadium
Serie A Standing:  Parma 12th position, 38 points
AC Milan 2nd position, 59 points

An uphill road for AC Milan from Milanello to the Ennio Tardini stadium.  Milan must be repenting for not winning the match against Napoli in San Siro to take the lead of the Serie A away from Inter after the big favor from Palermo stopping Inter with a draw.

Milan not only draw with Napoli, but also worsening the condition of forward Pato who was returning from injury and had to leave the pitch in the 14th minute.  On a bright note, a ray of hope for Milan might be the fresh energy of the "eternal giovanotto" Filippo Inzaghi.  Marco Borriello did not recover for the match against Napoli, and right now I think Inzaghi is the freshest and fit.

Parma won't be taking a nap and await for Milan either.  Parma looks forward for  a victory and we might see an inspired ex Milan Herman Crespo delivering a blow for the Milanisti.

Here is the probable formation for PARMA (4-3-2-1): Mirante, Zenoni, Christian Zaccardo, Paci, Lucarelli, Valiani, Jimenez, Galloppa, Jonathan Biabiany, Antonelli, and Hernan Crespo.

Here is the probable formation for AC MILAN (4-3-1-2): Abbiati, Gianluca Zambrotta, Thiago Silva, Giuseppe Favalli, Luca Antonini, Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo, Clarence Seedorf, Huntelaar, Filippo Inzaghi, and Ronaldinho.

Anna Italia Prediction: AC MILAN

UDINESE - CHIEVO VERONA (before the match)
Friuli Stadium
Serie A Standing: Udinese 16th position, 31 points
Chievo Verona 13th position, 36 points

Time for Udinese to win at the Friuli after the defeat against Roma in the Olimpico sending them to the 16th position. It seems Udinese requires more than having the top scorer of the Serie A forward Antonio Di Natale with 21 goals.  Udinese need a stronger defense. Chievo who were promoted from the Serie B are showing better performance. Chievo draw against Catania last week.

Here is the probable formation for UDINESE (4-3-3): Samir Handanovic, Isla, Coda, Zapata, Lukovic, Paolo Sammarco, Lodi, Asamoah, Pepe, Antonio Di Natale, and Floro Flores.

Here is the probable formation for CHIEVO VERONA (4-3-1-2):Sorrentino, Frey, Mandelli, Mario Yepes, Jokic, Luciano, Rigoni, Pinzi, Bentivoglio, Sergio Pellissier and Bogdani.

Anna Italia Prediction: UDINESE

LAZIO - AC SIENA  (before the match)
Olimpico di Roma Stadium
Serie A Standing:  Lazio 17th position, 29 points
AC Siena 19th position, 25 points

A match to get away and farther of the relegation....

It seems the light of the tunnel is getting lighter for Lazio after defeating Cagliari at the Sant'Elia!  Lazio still  knocking at the door of relegation but you bet they don't want that door to open.  Best thing for Lazio and "the super motivator coach Edy Reja" is to play with the same unity, commitment they showed against Cagliari sending the message clear to Lotito that they are not beaten.

Siena also motivated after defeating Bologna and adding another 3 points at the Olimpico would be a push...

Here is the probable formation for LAZIO (3-5-2): Fernando Muslera, Stendardo, Dias, Radu,Lichtsteiner, Christian Brocchi, Ledesma, Mauri, Kolarov, Mauro Zarate, and Tommaso Rocchi.

Here is the probable formation for AC SIENA (4-1-4-1):  Curci, Rosi, Cribari, Odibe, Del Grosso, Ekdal, Reginaldo, Vergassola, and Tziolis.

Can Lazio captain Tommaso Rocchi lead Lazio for a victory along Mauro Zarate?

Anna Italia Prediction:
LAZIO

GENOA - PALERMO (before the match)
Luigi Ferraris Stadium
Serie A Standing:  Genoa 7th position, 42 points
                              Palermo 4th position, 47 points

It won't be an easy away match for Palermo considering all the energies spent in the match against Inter at the Barbera. Players will have to make the travel and we might see forward Abel Hernandez playing more to give recovery time for either Cavani or Miccoli who have been playing most games.  Cavani and Miccoli are the top scorers for Palermo this season with 10 gols each.  For Genoa the top scorer are Giuseppe Sculli and Rossi with 5 goals each.

Bad news for Palermo might be losing Simplicio after he had to be substituted for injury in the match against Inter. Palermo will face their ex goalkeeper Marco Amelia! Wow, imagine Miccoli and Cavani trying to blast Amelia..

Here is the probable formation for GENOA (3-4-3): Marco Amelia, Rossi, Moretti, Bocchetti, Mesto, Milanetto, Zapater, Criscito, Rodrigo Palacio, Raffaele Palladino and Giuseppe Sculli.

Here is the probable formation for PALERMO (4-3-1-2): Salvatore Sirigu, Mattia Cassani, Simon Kjaer, Cesare Bovo, Federico Balzaretti, Migliaccio, Nocerino, Bertolo, Javier Pastore, Fabrizio Miccoli, and Edison Cavani.

Anna Italia Prediction: GENOA

ATALANTA - CAGLIARI (before the match)
Artleti Azzurri D'Italia Stadium
Serie A Standing:  Atalanta 18th position, 25 points
                              Cagliari 11th position, 39 points

Atalanta with the added motivation after defeating Livorno. Cagliari losing at home would go to the Atleti Azzurri for the 3 points.  A victory Atalanta  will be a definite push towards salvation, but a defeat means back to the nightmare....

Here is the probable formation for ATALANTA (4-4-2): Consigli, Gyrogy Garics, Bianco, Manfredini, Bellini, Ferreira Pinto, Padoin, Guarente, Valdes, Chevanton, and Amoruso.

Here is the probable formation for CAGLAIRI (4-3-1-2): Federico Marchetti, Marzoratti, Ariaudo, Canini, Agostini, Dessena, Daniele Conti, Biondini, Cossu, Jeda, and Alessandro Matri.

Anna Italia Prediction:
DRAW

AS BARI - SAMPDORIA (before the match)
San Nicola Stadium
Serie A Standing:  AS Bari 10th position, 39 points
                              Sampdoria 5th position, 47 points

The return from Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano saying "here I am" with the super goal against Juventus might earn him the post in the starting line up against Bari.

Top scorer for Bari is Barreto with 11 goals while for Sampdoria top scorer is Pazzini with 13 goals.

Here is the probable formation for AS BARI (4-4-2): Jean Francois Gillet, Belmonte, Andrea Masiello, Bonucci, S. Masiello, Alvarez, Gazzi, Donati, Koman, Castillo, and Meggiorini.

Here is the probable formation for SAMPDORIA (4-4-2): Marco Storari, Zauri, Gastaldello, Rossi, Ziegler, Semioli, Angelo Palobo, Poli, Guberti, Giampaolo Pazzini and Antonio Cassano.

Anna Italia Prediction: AS BARI

FC INTER - AS LIVORNO (before the match)
Giuseppe Meazza Stadium
Serie A Standing:  FC Inter 1st position, 60 points
AS Livorno  20th position, 24 points

Oh my gosh.. here is a BLACK AND WHITE, a DAVID AND GOLIATH match... Inter the top leader of the Serie A with 60 points battling with Livorno being in the last position of the Table with only 24 points.   The pressure for Inter to prepare for the Champions League and also keep the leadership in the Serie A.  Only 1 point difference with AC Milan. Problem with Inter is that seems to have ran out of the gas not winning in 7 games and keep getting draw, after draw....

Livorno with the frustration from Coach Serse Cosmi watching the team playing differently to what they programed during training against Atalanta.  I am watching La Domenica Sportiva and Cosmi is one of the special guest. Naturally, main concern for Cosmi is knowing how the team will play against Inter either following what they rehearse or not following his strategy.

On paper, Inter is the favorite.. however, small teams giving difficulty to the big teams... plus the tension, the drive from Livorno  to redeem themselves, plus Inter with their pending match in the Champions ... oh well... let's give it a shot...

Here is the probable formation for FC INTER (4-3-1-2): Julio Cesar, Maicon, Lucio, Walter Samuel, Davide Santon, Javier Zanetti, Esteban Cambiasso, Thiago Motta, Wesley Sneijder, Samuel Eto'o and Diego Milito.

Here is the probable formation for AS LIVORNO (3-4-2-1): Rubinho, Perticone, Rivas, Dario Knezevic, Raimondi, Filippini, Moro, Pieri, Bellucci, Di Gennaro, and Cristiano Lucarelli.

Anna Italia Prediction: DRAW

BOLOGNA - AS ROMA(before the match)
Renato Dall'Ara Stadium
Serie A Standing:  Bologna 14th position, 35 points
AS Roma 3rd position, 56 points

Roma preparing for the super big match against Inter next Saturday. Yet, the first hurdle is to defeat Bologna.  Most likely Coach Claudio Ranieri will test first Totti giving him few minutes playing. I don't think Totti can play the 90 minutes. If the purpose is to have him ready for the match against Inter, than, playing at least one half might be ideal.

Top scorer for Bologna this season are forwards Marco Di Vaio and Martins Adailton with 9 goals each while for Roma is Francesco Totti with 10 goals.

Bologna need to start winning.  On paper, Roma seems favorite..

Here is the probable formation for BOLOGNA (4-4-1-1): Viviano, Raggi, Portanova, Moras, Lanna, Antonio Busce', Mudingayi, Guana, Modesto, Adailton, and Marcelo Zalayeta.

Here is the probable formaiton for AS ROMA (4-2-3-1): Julio Sergio, Cassetti, Philippe Mexes, Nicolas Burdisso, John Arne Riise, David Pizarro, Daniele De Rossi, Rodrigo Taddei, Simone Perrotta, Mirko Vucinic, and Luca Toni

Anna Italia Prediction: DRAW

CATANIA - FIORENTINA (before the match)
Angelo Massimino Stadium
Serie A Standing:  Catania 15th position, 32 points
                              Fiorentina  9th position, 41 points

Talking about inspiration and you see Fiorentina with forward Alberto Gilardino scoring so far 14 goals and being a key player in the last games.  For Catania it will be up to the creator Giuseppe Mascara to deliver the goals and keep the 3 points.  Top scorer this season for Catania is Martinez with 9 goals.

Here is the probable formation for CATANIA (4-3-3): Kosicky, Potenza, Silvestre, Terlizzi, Alvarez, Ledesma, Biagianti, Ricchiuti, Izco, Maxi Lopez, and Giuseppe Mascara.

Here is the probable formation for FIORENTINA (4-4-2): Sebastien Frey, De Silvestri, Natali, Kroldrup, Felipe, Santana, Donadel, Riccardo Montolivo, Gobbi, Stevan Jovetic and Alberto Gilardino.

http://www.corrieredellosport.it/images/00/C_3_Media_897700_immagine.jpg

Wonder boy Jovetic the talisman for Fiorentina.

Anna Italia Prediction: FIORENTINA

NAPOLI - JUVENTUS (before the match)
San Paolo Stadium
Serie A Standing:  Napoli 8th position, 42 points
                              Juventus 6th position, 45 points

The frustration from Napoli for having lost the lead against AC Milan and the urgent need from Juventus to start winning to 'at least" save the season by reaching to the 4th position to be in the Champions League next year.  Imagine how serious the situation is among Juventus players that at the end of the game against Sampdoria, Captain Alessandro Del Piero suggested Bettega that the players wanted to retreat one day earlier the match against Napoli.  Bettega accepted, so you will have a conscious and determined preparation  from the bianconeri traveling to the San Paolo not thinking on the pressure from the fans, but on bringing home the 3 points.

Juventus cannot take another defeat because there are only 8 more games after and as coach Zaccheroni says, if not reaching the 4th position means he fails...

Yet, Napoli, also will look to win at home.....

Here is the probable formation for NAPOLI (4-4-2): Morgan De Sanctis, Hugo Campagnaro, Leandro Rinaudo, Zuniga, Cristian Maggio, Walter Gargano, Pazienza, Marek Hamsik, Fabio Quagliarella, and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Here is the probable formation or JUVENTUS (4-3-1-2): Chimenti, Grygera, Fabio Cannavaro, Giorgio Chiellini, Fabio Grosso, Mauro Camoranesi, Christian Poulsen, Sissoko, Diego, Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet.

Anna Italia Prediction: DRAW
