Here are the declarations made today at Milanello by English AC midfielder David Beckham exclusively to Milan Channel's microphones on Monday, March 8, 2010 awaiting his encounter with his ex team MANCHESTER UNITED for the first time returning to Old Trafford, but as opponent.  It's not just any game, but the Second Leg of the 2009 - 2010 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 on Wednesday, March 10, 2010.

David, what do you feel a few hours before your return to Manchester? Are you nervous, calm? What are your feelings?
"No, I'm not nervous, I'm happy because for the first time after seven years I will return to Manchester and go on the pitch. I'll meet up with many friends and all the people who supported me for many years."

Let's talk about your time in Manchester. When you were a child, at your home close to Old Trafford, did you ever think you would one day become one of the greatest United players?
"It was always my dream to play for Manchester and I couldn't imagine playing with a different shirt. Now, coming back to Manchester as a Milan player, will be exciting. I will always be a Manchester fan and this is perhaps the first time in my life that I want them to lose."

Manchester United are a school of football and of life. What's the first thing to learn for a player who dreams of playing for United?

"Those who dream of playing for Manchester United shouldn't think of it in terms of earning a lot of money, becoming rich, but for the pride of playing for Manchester United. This is what I wanted as a child: it was the only club I wanted to play for. They're a great team, and like Milan, they're a great family."

Do you remember the first thing Sir Alex Ferguson told you?

"He told me to work hard. Sir Alex Ferguson gives a lot of advice to players and he's one of the best football coaches. He protected his players, but he made me understand when I was making a mistake."

Old Trafford is one of the most 'frightening' stadiums for opponents.

"If I'll play on Wednesday, I won't be frightened, but I will be excited in any case because I played in that stadium for many years and I know what it means to be a Manchester United player. I know what it means for opponents to play there. Milan have a lot of experience in Europe, they're one of the best clubs in the world."

In football anything is possible. You surely remember Manchester United's match against Bayern Munich: it seemed impossible and we know how it ended (Champions League final of 1999). What do you think Milan's best quality is on the pitch compared to Manchester?

"Playing at Old Trafford is always difficult. It's difficult to win, especially 2-0. We know we'll have to go for it, play good passes and create many moves, we have many players who can score. We are aware of the fact that it will be a very difficult match, but nothing's impossible."

Do you think Sir Alex Ferguson is sure of going through? And do you think Rooney will be a part of the match?

"I'm sure Rooney will play, I think he's had some problems in the last few days, but he had the whole weekend to recover. He's a fine player and he'll want to participate to the match. Alex Ferguson will certainly use the best possible formation."

What do you think of Leonardo?

"He's a great coach. He has great experience as a player and as a coach he has a lot of respect from his players and the club. Coaching Milan is very difficult and he's doing well."
