Good morning my friends.

A total change in the race for the Scudetto this week with a new contender for Inter.  Last week the main contender was AC Milan, though, after Milan draw with Bologna, the new contender is AS ROMA taking away the second position from Milan after defeating Fiorentina.  Moreover, the South are battling to be among the 6 top teams with Napoli having the 4th position and Palermo the 5th position.  In the relegation area a new visitor with Lazio falling from grace when losing in the Olimpico against Catania causing the sacking of coach Davide Ballardini. Inter recovered Match 22 against Parma on Wednesday ending with a draw.  Get ready because the first match is on FRIDAY. Yep!  AC Milan vs Udinese.

AC Milan in 1 week lost 7 points falling from the 2nd position to the 3rd position.  It seems Milan picked the wrong timing to draw against two of the so-called small teams Livorno and Bologna.  The mission for Milan is to defeat Udinese in San Siro and hope for Palermo to defeat Roma to take back the 2nd position. 

A victory will be a boost to the morale of the team to face Manchester United in San Siro on February 16. It won't be easy because Udinese travels to San Siro with the clear mission to defeat Milan.  The challenge is for Milan defense to stop the Serie A top scorer Udinese forward Antonio Di Natale scoring so far 16 goals and counting...  Imagine that Di Natale scored 3 goals last week against Napoli!!!!! 

Di Natale is not afraid of Milan as declared through Udinese official website, "The team's success is more important than my goals and the Serie a standings are more important than the goalscorers' chart. We needed these three points like bread ahead of the next two difficult away games. Victories are the best medicine for our problems, because winning helps to win. Right now the morale is high and we're going to Milan to go for it without fear."

It's a moment for revenge as Udinese eliminated AC Milan in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals and in San Siro on January 27, 2010.  It's the time for Ronaldinho to speak on the field.

Let me start by giving a thumb up to Roma and Palermo!  Yep.  Both did well last week. Roma snatching the 2nd position from AC Milan by defeating Fiorentina while Palermo defeated Parma.  Here is the thing now both teams will come face to face to keep their winning path.  Roma needs to defeat Palermo to keep the second position and hope for Napoli to defeat Inter to shorten the distance to 6 points. If Palermo defeat Roma and Inter defeat Napoli, guess what? what!  Palermo will jump to the 4th position!!!!   A defeat might bring down Roma back to the 3rd position if Milan defeats Udinese.

SO much going on in this game...  Roma captain Francesco Totti still recovering and coach Claudio Ranieri hope to see Totti against Palermo.



For Palermo, I agree with midfielder Mark Bresciano that Roma will be the real test.  Guys, if Palermo defeats Roma in the Olimpico that will be a total boost to the morale of the team and prepare for the fast lane...

It's the debut of Lazio coach Edy Reja trying to save Lazio from the relegation area.  It's not an easy situation.  Lazio have one of the worst defense this season.  Lazio  up to Week 23 have scored 17 goals, conceded 24 goals having a total negative goal difference of -7.  Ouch.  With just 1 day training, it seems Reja is adopting the 5-3-2 formation which is his favorite and getting good results with Napoli.

Disadvantage for Cagliari the absence from injury of goalkeeper Marchetti.

Up to Week 23 Juventus have scored 35 goals, conceded 30, having a goal difference of +5.   Genoa not doing that well but just "even" by scoring 36 goals, conceded 36 goals ending with a 0 goal difference.

It's a test for both.  Really?  Hum?
