Catania Sporting Director Pietro Lo Monaco in negotiations with Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic to replace Gianluca Atzori

The news is not official yet about the sacking of Catania coach Gianluca Atzori. However, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, Catania Sporting Director Pietro Lo Monaco is is Rome talking to former Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic to replace Atzori after the defeat this Sunday in the Italian Serie A Week 15. AC Siena 3 - 2 Catania.  Catania has only 9 points compared to the 35 points of Inter leader of the Serie A.  Hey, that's a big difference!!!!

I checked Catania official website and there is no announcement yet for the sacking of Atzori...

Point is that Catania has not won since one month and a half.  Catania President Nino Pulvirenti and Lo Monaco who previously reaffirmed their confidence to Atzori are now looking for solutions.  Lo Monaco left this morning Catania towards Rome to meet with Mihajlovic.  The point is that Mihajlovic was also sacked from Bologna for doing so poorly and now they are looking for his help to resolve Catania's situation?  Something is not working....   Reportedly, Lo Monaco and Mihajlovic met this morning in a hotel to discuss a posible hiring...
 

Mihajlovic left Bologna with a poor record 9 points in 15 games.  Mihajolovic coached Bologna from November 2008 to April 2009. Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was the tenth coach to be sacked in the 2008 - 2009 Italy Serie A Season  on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 after losing the Italian Serie A Week 31 match Bologna 1 - 2 AC Siena. Mihajlovic was replaced by coach Giuseppe Papadopoulo who was also sacked....
