Let me say that I disagree with AC Milan coach Leonardo on his point that the outcome of Juve and Inter will not be determinant for the season. Hello, right now the point difference between Inter and Milan are 7 points.
Here is the thing. If Inter defeats Juventus and Sampdoria defeats Milan, hello wake up to reality Leo because the difference will be 10 points!!!! Excuse me but 10 points are determinant for any squad. We are almost half way of the season and even if Milan win all their remaining games and Inter continue winning, then, hello, guess what... what? Inter would win the Scudetto, period. That's how determinant is the outcome between Juve and Inter. Indirectly affects AC Milan and you bet I will side with AC Milan VP Adriano Galliani on rooting for Juventus to shorten the distance.
Here are the declarations from AC Milan coach Leonardo on the eve of the Italian Serie A Week 15 match AC MILAN - SAMPDORIA on Saturday, December 5, 2009 in San Siro Stadium.

ON THE LEAGUE
"At the moment the standings are still very close. Our latest results are positive and important. In the league we are all very close even though we can only sum things up at the end. That said, Milan will have to try and keep a high level.
Inter have had few drops in form in the last few years especially during the winter period. They're a very solid teams and this allowed them to maintain an important advantage from the others even in difficult times.
Now we have many home games and that's a very positive aspect after the numerous away games we've had. Before the Christmas break we are playing against teams who are in a good position in the table, they will be almost direct encounters and this will be useful to finish the period before the Christmas break well.
In our next games we are facing teams who in this first part of the
league have had highs and lows: for example Sampdoria started very well
and even though they found some difficulties, I'm still convinced that
each match has its own history.
At the moment Samp want to refind
themselves. Tomorrow I expect a very difficult match against a team
which despite the latest results will be difficult to 'penetrate' with
some very solid players."
ON GATTUSO
"Gattuso never loses the desire to train and improve. It's always difficult to handle an injury, but as was seen during the trainings these days he works a lot. He is recovering, he's doing well and let's hope he returns as soon as possible. His relationship with all of us is very clear and I think it's normal that these questions are asked about his future because he's a very important player. If ever there will be a 'problem' in the future it will never concern his relationship with the club. Egostically, I would want him to stay with us because he's an important resource for this group. Rino has always been the spirit of this team.
At the moment his priority is to recover from his injury, so I ask you to leave him alone and then when the time is right the problem will be handled. We cannot search for a solution which can't be there today, he now needs to train, heal, and then we will see. The intention is to have him back on the pitch and make sure this relationship with Milan continues.
Until today he has done physical and aerobic work and I hope that next week Rino will have more improvements. He could be available against Palermo, but that's only my hypothesis because I haven't spoken with the doctor yet. The only chance a player has to change his situation is to play so he needs to have patience and wait until he heals."
ON THE JUVENTUS-INTER MATCH
"I don't think the result between Juve and Inter will be determinant for the outcome of our season. Only our way of playing and the consistency we will be able to have matters, and maintaining our way of playing.
Will there be a chance to reach the top of the table? It will depend on Inter, who are playing Juve tomorrow, the Bianconeri have a point less than us... We have to maintain our results because only we can write the story of this season."
ON THE ANTI-SAMPDORIA FORMATION
"After the match in Catania we faced an entire week of work and that was useful to train well and rest. We will evaluate the conditions of Thiago Silva and Huntelaar because in the last few days they didn't participate to each phase of the training with the team, but in general the situation is positive. There will be important returns like those of Bonera and Jankulovski. Zambrotta will be suspended for the match against Zurich, we'll see how we handle this situation. We don't have many options, but we will do things the best possible way. As for Massimo Ambrosini, the captain is doing very well, but based on today's training we will decide who goes on the pitch."
ON THE ENTRANCE OF HUNTELAAR AT CATANIA
"When I thought of using Inzaghi at Catania my idea was to change the system. At the time we need an 'extra Inzaghi'. We needed to penetrate and push the team forward. During the week I saw the work done by Huntelaar and for that reason Klaas was brought in during the final minutes of Catania-Milan.
This playing solution will be appliable again in the future if necessary, certainly it gives a new playing solution.
After the two goals Huntelaar scored something inside the team has changed: the emotions of a goal are very important for a striker and also the way everything happened was fantastic. If I think back to the way he was celebrated by the team, it was really nice and perhaps all of this allowed him to return to normality after a difficult period. Huntelaar and Borriello are different players, but with the system we're playing in I think Klaas can insert himself without problems."

ON THE POSSIBLE USE OF BECKHAM AS A LEFT BACK
"Perhaps the role of a full back is difficult because the mind of a player counts a lot and if you don't play in your role you might get confused."
ON CASSANO AND HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH MARCELLO LIPPI
"Having a player in a team for a year is different from having him for a certain period like in a World Cup.
Anyone would want a player like Cassano, he has character. It's always nice to have great players, you have the chance to work with players who have different characteristics. If we then talk about his behaviour, I can only say he is a special person."
ON HIS POSSIBLE FUTURE ROLE AS BRAZIL COACH
"I'd like to coach Brazil, I'm not setting it as a future objective, but to think of a World Cup in Brazil in 2014 is a nice thing. I think my possible future with the Brazilian national team might not be in a technical role, but for now I'm not making programs and only think of the present."
ON THE RELATIONSHIP WITH SILVIO BERLUSCONI
"I talk with president Silvio Berlusconi. One of his characteristics is that he makes himself heard more during difficult times than when things go well. At the beginning it was a constant, now a bit less, also because of the many things he's involved in, but our ideas are always the same. There's a certain line that's agreed on and things are going well. But he's always very close to us."
A COMPARISON WITH A COACH OF THE PAST
"I can't pretend to arrive one day and become like Sacchi, Capello, or Zaccheroni because we are different. The best thing is to have learned from everyone and then put together all the information I have learned to work in the best way possible."
ON ADIYAH
"Adiyah is young, he's an external striker who can play on one side of the pitch or the other and has good qualities. We'll wait to see him grow. The difference with Pato is that Alexandre arrived when he was younger, after a year spent in Brazil and after winning a Club World Cup. Pato's experiences have given him the chance to gain more personality than Adiyah."
