Will Palermo midfielder Fabio Simplicio replace Gennaro Gattuso?

By Vito Intermobiliare

I am not sure how true this is as you know how much the Italians talk and talk and talk and talk.............................

According to the Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan directors have identified Palermo midfield ace Fabio Simplicio as the ideal replacement for want-away Gennaro Gattuso.

Last week, Gattuso was so upset about not feeling part of the starting lineup anymore and expressed   his frustration against the decision of AC Milan coach Leonardo.  Gattuso saying that he  could leave Milan in January to try his luck in the Premier League where he has different options including to be with ex coach Carlo Ancelotti in Chelsea.

Here is the interesting thing. With Gattuso out of the picture, the Rossoneri are expected to make a move for Palermo midfielder Fabio Simplicio who will be out of contract in Sicily next June. It is suggested that Palermo could accept a ‘special’ transfer fee in January in order to avoid losing the 30-year-old to a free transfer in the summer.

However, if the transfer market for Simplicio fails, Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani might try to sign Parma midfielder McDonald Mariga who has long been on Milan's wish list.
