- Bad news for Juventus defender Nicola Legrottaglie not able to play against Cyprus for muscular problems. Good news is that Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon continue training despite having problem with the meniscus. 

- Practice match game with the 11 players for Cyprus against the 11 who played in the beginning against Ireland ending in 3-2.  Scoring Udinese forward Antonio Di Natale the winning goal.   Also a great gol from the distance by Gaetano D'Agostino. 

- Using a 4-3-2-1 formation. Strategy against Cyprus will be the defense Santon, Cannavaro, Gamberini and Bocchetti,  in the midfield with D'Agostino leading and supported by Simone Pepe and Gennaro Gattuso, supporting the sole forward Alberto Gilardino will be Giuseppe Rossi and Fabio Quagliarella.

It will be a special moment for Fiorentina forward Gilardino playing in Parma with the Italian National team. Gilardino returns to the city where he played his best football with Parma from 2002-2005 making 96 appearances and scoring 50 gols.  Imagine all the fans applauding one of their own shining with the Azzurri.  Hey, I am so happy for Gilardino and wish he scores and celebrates with "his playing the violin" trademark.

It's a great chance also for Cagliari goalkeeper to show his worth against Cyprus. Marchetti who is seen as one of the best promises for the future of Italy by goalkeeper Buffon.

Good to see the return from Italy captain and defender Fabio Cannavaro after his match suspension and now with the "doping" episode in the archives because it was proven that was not a doping.

Italy and Juventus defender Fabio Cannavaro took cortisone-based medicine to treat an insect sting on August 29, 2009- Juventus medical staff clarified this to the FIGC

Italy and FC Inter Davide Santon:

"I hope to participate in the 2010 World Cup and wish to make it still playing for Ingter.  I don't want to leave, I am ok in Inter and feel good, though Inter will have to decide in January," said Santon who   is the youngest player in the Italian National team right now being only 18 years old.

Guys, there is no doubt that Santon is proving to be a diamond as a defender.  However, Santon is conscious that in order to keep playing in the National team, he needs to play often in his club too as told previously by defender Fabio Cannavaro.  Good thing is that  Santon is willing to give his best during trainings with Inter to have enough playing time.  It won't be easy but at least Mourinho trusts him and now it will depend on Santon to show his worth.  The thing is that Inter might opt to loan Santon in January too. So, simply put, it will be up to him to put his best effort during trainings to convince Mourinho for more playing time.
